We are seeking a dynamic and strong tech personality to lead one of our IT teams of approximately 200 highly motivated tech enthusiasts, forming the ‘Mercedes-Benz Tech India’ team at MBRDI. As a part of the global IT tech network ('Home of Tech') in ITH, you will be able to deliver and drive the following:

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Functional

 

Deliver Digital Solutions: Provide digital tools, platforms, and technical capabilities for the Product Data Management (PDM) and CAD/CAE domain for both Car and Vans.

 

End-to-End Transformation: Drive the transformation of the system landscape and elimination of legacy systems and data handling processes.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with diverse stakeholders across multiple R&D units globally, with a functional commitment to the IT headquarters.

 

Solution Co-Creation: Co-create solutions with local RD business units at MBRDI

 

Global Product Delivery: Own and deliver various products to a globally distributed user base.

 

Capability Building: Build capability teams specializing in Core application development, data solutions and platforms, cloud migration, and DevOps – these teams are equipped to create advanced digital products with mature engineering practices for the engineering business stream specifically PDM and CAD/CAE.

 

Agile Transformation: Contribute to the global agile transformation initiatives in IT by following SAFe framework.

 

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for delivering end-to-end IT products while collaborating closely with stakeholders at Mercedes-Benz AG.

 

Transformational Leadership: Lead the transformation of the team from captive sourcing to a product-oriented approach, reinforcing the strategic goals of Mercedes-Benz Tech India within the broader context of Home of Tech and Mercedes-Benz AG.

 

Team Building: Inspire, create, and nurture a technologically adept team within MB Tech India. Build capability teams in the areas of data, cloud, and DevOps to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

 

Talent Development: Establish career paths for team members, focusing on diversifying the talent pool and enhancing core competencies through training and personal development initiatives.

 

Innovation and Technology Leadership: Cultivate a culture of innovative thinking and technology leadership, delivering digital tools and capabilities for automotive engineering in software and product data management.

 

Leadership Engagement: Actively participate in the MB AG leadership team, contributing to the greater vision of MB Tech India within MBRDI.

 

Financial Stewardship: Manage the financial planning of the department, optimize manpower utilization, and oversee the budget effectively.

 

Compliance and Governance: Ensure statutory compliance and adherence to internal policies and processes.

Qualification:

 

• 15-20+ years of professional experience in the automotive tech/software engineering area.
• Proven track record of transformational leadership experience.
• Intercultural awareness with international exposure, empathy, and a strong commitment to diversification and inclusion.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in cross-divisional integration work at a global level.
• Proven experience in leading product teams and digitalization initiatives.
• Ability to manage business-critical portfolios.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Master’s Degree in a tech-related area.
• Strong background in tech leadership with a robust network in the tech industry.
• English Business Fluent.
• Spoken German is an advantage.
