Objective:
This position serves as the diagnosis engineer of the Retrofit & Diagnosis Team, responsible for diagnosing and resolving critical vehicle issues during retrofit and test campaigns/trips, implementing innovation realization, supporting the establishment of quality standards and processes that ensure component and system quality aligns with R&D standards, managing supplier technical interfaces, monitoring quality and delivery, and supporting continuous quality improvement.
- Performing root cause analysis and diagnosis of vehicle EE retrofitting issues; coordinate with component or system engineer and experts to evaluate issues and organize resources to find solutions..
- Conducting EE troubleshooting methods for newly introduced vehicle models.
- Providing EE troubleshooting guides and coaching.
- Document diagnosis findings and corrective actions in a structured knowledge base.
- Provide diagnostic feedback to design and systems engineering teams.
- Report for identified technical risks, compliance issues, and safety hazards.
- Performing mechanical and EE installation, wiring, mounting, and system interfacing according to innovation concept.
- Providing feedback to cross-functional teams on successful approaches, gaps, and required changes for future innovations.
Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive R&D retrofitting, integration, or advanced technical troubleshooting, with exposure to both ICE and Electric Vehicle (EV) architectures.
- Deep, practical knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain/e-drive, chassis, body electronics, HV systems) and their interaction.
- Proven expertise in diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle system faults (mechanical, electrical, network). Experience as a field support engineer for testing events is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools, CAN analysis software (e.g., CANoe, CANalyzer), and engineering flashing procedures.
- Valid Chinese driving license (Class C or above).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with a “systems-thinking” approach to vehicle integration and fault analysis.
- Good collaboration and execution skills, including outstanding communication, teamwork, time management, and resilience. Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and respond to urgent on-site technical support demands.
- Language Proficiency: Native fluency in Chinese. Working proficiency in English, with the ability to read technical documentation and communicate effectively in a professional context.
