To support RD China’s strategy of maximizing the local ecosystem and delivering a best-in-class thermal comfort experience for Chinese customers, the local Thermal Management team develops and localizes innovative thermal comfort and thermal management solutions for Mercedes-Benz carlines in China. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Thermal Management Expert to drive the local business growth.
1. EE Thermal Requirements & System Definition- Define and manage E/E-related thermal management requirements for localized vehicle programs.
- Benchmark competitive HVAC and thermal systems with focus on E/E architecture, diagnostics, networking, UI, and system integration.
- Specify China-specific E/E thermal functions and interfaces.
- Drive alignment with System Responsibles, Module Group Speakers, OBD Coordinators, and System Integrators to ensure target achievement and customer satisfaction.
- Lead end-to-end development of thermal management E/E functions, from requirements through integration, validation, and release.
- Coordinate function test strategies, test cases, and validation activities across component, system, and vehicle levels.
- Collaborate with RD China, RD Germany, and cross-functional teams to ensure robust and efficient function implementation.
- Own E/E release readiness for China-specific thermal functions.
- Serve as the primary interface for all thermal management-related E/E and software topics.
- Lead root-cause analysis, debugging, and issue resolution together with RD Germany and RD India.
- Ensure production readiness and support vehicle ramp-up activities.
- Manage issue tracking, maturity reporting, hotfixes, and engineering changes throughout development and series production.
- Validate E/E functions through bench test, FMU, climatic wind tunnel, and road testing.
- Ensure timely completion of E/E function releases according to project milestones.
- Monitor field quality and drive continuous improvement from the customer perspective.
Qualification
Education- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Automotive Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
