Job Overview:

Provide project governance and project management for Mercedes-Benz Financial Services North America (MBFS NA) project portfolio. Responsibilities include steering project investment in alignment with global MBFS and MB strategic objectives, implementing governance model for MBFS NA project portfolio, establishing flexible/agile methodologies for optimal value delivery and continuous improvement, escalating project issues and risks for mitigation/resolution. Provide standard and ad hoc reporting on project portfolio to all levels of leadership to ensure awareness of achievements, issues and risks. Ensure cross functional collaboration is strong in support of strategic projects and business initiatives. Ensure project processes are effective, efficient and compliant.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure MBFS NA project portfolio is aligned with global MBFS and MB strategic objectives. Collaborate with global MBFS and MB colleagues in support of MBFS NA project portfolio. In conjunction with Chief of Staff for Office of the Head of MBFS NA, determine funding source and required approval process with consideration of global guidelines. In partnership with project leads, execute approval process to secure funds for project portfolio.  20%

  • Implement project governance for MBFS NA, inclusive of: MBFS NA project decision board that prioritizes projects, approves project proposals for execution, provides oversight during project execution, manages project collisions; project intake process; prioritization process; approval process; project monitoring of deliverables, spend and timeline; process for escalating project issues and risks.  20%

  • Work closely with project teams to understand status, prepare reports and presentations. Determine when project teams need additional support for deliverables. Identify issues and risks that require escalation for mitigation/resolution. Maintain robust project coordination for cross functional projects, and ensure strong cross functional collaboration. Communicate status to MBFS NA Leaders to ensure awareness and action when necessary. Work in conjunction with Chief of Staff for Office of the Head of MBFS NA to determine report and presentation needs, as well as support needs leveraging MBFS NA Executive Office staff.  20%

  • For MBFS NA project decision board meetings and other project meetings: develop agenda; communicate expectations to meeting participants; provide meeting materials inclusive of presentation, minutes and action items; facilitate meetings. In conjunction with Chief of Staff for Office of the Head of MBFS NA, determine meeting support needs leveraging MBFS NA Executive Office staff.  20%

  • In collaboration with IT, leverage agile/flexible methodologies and tools for executing projects to achieve optimal value. Methodologies identify issues early enabling ability to pivot for quick adjustment. Evaluate methodologies to ensure they provide opportunity for continuous improvement.  15%

  • Contribute to and promote organizational activities that facilitate a positive culture.  5%

     

     

    Determine which projects are in alignment with MBFS NA and MB strategic objectives and should be considered for the MBFS NA project portfolio.

Determine when a project requires escalation for mitigation/resolution and to who it needs to be escalated. Frequency: Weekly

Determine content for presentations and reports to highlight achievements, issues and risks to appropriate audiences.

Chief of Staff for Office of the Head of Mercedes-Benz Financial Services

Objective: Discuss strategic alignment of MBFS NA proposed projects, governance topics and activities, project board and status meetings, project status, reporting and presentations. Frequency: Daily

 

Project Leads and Project Managers

Objective: Discuss project status to understand achievements, issues and risks, need for escalation. Frequency: Daily

 

IT Colleagues

Objective: Discuss agile/flexible methodologies and tools for optimal value and to ensure continuous improvement. Frequency: Monthly

 

Qualifikationen

Qualifications:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will be provided for this position. 
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes: 

  • 2 years Administration
