Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary contact for India-market OBD certification and act as the liaison to MBIL.
• Plan and execute annual OBD certifications, including preparation and coordination of all required activities.
• Plan OBD demonstrations, select appropriate test vehicles, and interface with the global MO/QZA OBD testing team.
• Manage OBD-related software changes for the India market using the doorman process.
• Report regulatory obligations including CALID/CVN, IUMPR, and other compliance-related requirements.
• Serve as the USA OBD group owner as part of the CARB OBD application process.
• Act as the primary OBD certification contact (Certification Evaluation Engineer) for control units such as SCCM, ORC, BCM, and CHCM (DRVU).
• Act as the primary certification contact for OBD of charging systems and coordinate with RD/IE technical teams.
• Manage OBD software changes for the USA market using the MB doorman process.
• Collaborate with global teams across Germany, USA, India, and China; track issues, organize deliverables, and follow up on tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:
• Strong understanding of OBD regulations (India OBD, CARB OBD) and certification processes.
• 5–8 years of experience in automotive diagnostics, compliance, or embedded systems (adjust as needed).
• Hands-on experience with OBD software workflows, calibration identifiers (CALID/CVN), IUMPR reporting, and doorman processes.
• Familiarity with tools/platforms used in OBD validation and certification.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifikationen

Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
• Additional certifications (if any): e.g., Automotive Diagnostics, Functional Safety.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
• Exposure to global OBD standards, emission regulations, and certification procedures.
• Experience working with international teams (Germany, USA, China, India).
• Familiarity with Daimler tools, systems, and processes.
• Knowledge of EV/charging-system diagnostics is an added advantage.
