China is the largest passenger car market for Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz R&D China is committed to delivering China-fit ADAS/AD products through advanced technologies for Chinese customers. We are looking for ADAS/AD experts who are passionate about developing China-fit ADAS/AD systems.

In this role, you will take end-to-end responsibility for developing complex functions or features of the AD L3 system. You will ensure compliance with Chinese regulations while optimizing the system for local infrastructure and driving behavior. The position requires strong expertise in ADAS/AD technologies, a deep understanding of Chinese user scenarios, and the ability to collaborate effectively with headquarters and international suppliers in a multicultural environment.

  Qualifications

  • Master's degree or above in Vehicle Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in ADAS/AD software or system development
  • Experience in ADAS functions such as AEB, ACC, LKA, HWA, and related system design
  • Experience in AD L3/L4 systems (including Robotaxi) is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of AD platforms and ADAS/AD basic software is preferred
  • Knowledge of SOTIF and Functional Safety (FuSa) is preferred
  • Knowledge of ADAS/AD sensors is preferred
  • Native Chinese speaker with fluent English; German language skills are a plus
  • Strong ownership, initiative, and self-driven working style
  • Good intercultural communication and collaboration skills

  Main Responsibilities

  Lead AD L3 System Requirement Definition (30%)

  • Define system requirements and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and adaptation to local infrastructure and driving behavior
  • Analyze system trade-offs and support architecture decisions

  Feature Rollout Planning and Delivery (20%)

  • Define feature rollout plans based on maturity and vehicle integration status
  • Own milestone deliverables and provide regular status and release reports

  System Testing and Evaluation (20%)

  • Participate in testing activities and evaluate system performance
  • Analyze data, identify issues, and refine requirements
  • Track and drive issue resolution

  Collaboration with Development and Validation Teams (20%)

  • Align requirements with implementation and validation teams
  • Support validation planning and test specification reviews
  • Drive successful implementation of requirements

  Cross-functional Communication and Reporting (10%)

  • Monitor regulations, competitor developments, market trends, and product-related information
  • Communicate development progress and align with internal and external stakeholders.
