The “Legal AI: AI Regulations, Ethics & Digital Regulations” team in Stuttgart is part of the Corporate Data Protection & Digital Compliance Program at Mercedes-Benz Group AG. We support the responsible and legally compliant use of artificial intelligence and other digital technologies across the company. Our work focuses on identifying legal, ethical and regulatory risks at an early stage and translating them into practical governance and compliance measures.
During your internship, you will actively contribute to this work and support us in shaping a framework for the responsible use of digital technologies — as part of Mercedes-Benz’s digital transformation.
The following tasks await you as part of your internship:
- Together with us and other departments, you shape the way we responsibly drive digital transformation at Mercedes-Benz
- With your creativity, you support the further development and implementation of our information and training offers
- You independently conduct research on relevant digital trend topics, in particular related to the ethics, regulation and governance of AI
- You contribute your ideas to the optimization of existing methods, standards and processes in order to effectively implement our measures across the company
- You help prepare, organize and follow up on cross-departmental workshops and dialogue formats
- You support the preparation of top management presentations and decision-making recommendations
The activity can begin from September 2026.
- You are studying law, ethics, business administration or another comparable subject with a strong affinity for IT and AI and are looking for a compulsory internship
- You have a strong interest in AI, digital regulation and governance
- Very good German language skills are essential for this role, as the working environment is predominantly German-speaking and many meetings take place in German. As written communication is conducted in both German and English, confident English skills are also expected
- Confident use of Microsoft Office applications
- Interest in new technologies and their ethical and legal challenges
- Ideally, advanced knowledge in generative AI, machine learning, deep learning or another new technology
- High motivation and willingness to learn
- Flexibility and openness to work in a dynamic environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to structure complex topics clearly
