Objectives:

We are looking for an experienced Exhaust System R&D Engineer to join our global powertrain R&D team. The role takes R&D ownership to develop new exhaust system for China leading vehicle projects, also need ensure joint venture localization vehicle projects delivery.

Main tasks

• Perform technical/cost benchmarking, concept evaluation and feasibility analysis for new projects.

• Conduct architecture design, component layout and 2D/3D engineering design according to engine/vehicle

• Formulate DV/PV test specifications, follow up part validation, engine test and vehicle test result, analyze test failures, and conduct root-cause analysis.

• Support JV pre-production verification, process validation and on-site technical troubleshooting to guarantee SOP on time.

• Resolve in-production and field quality issues, deliver rapid interim countermeasures to prevent production shutdown and customer complaints, and implement ongoing part design optimization.

• Collaborate with R&D headquarter, purchasing, quality, production and suppliers to manage component development schedule, cost, quality, and validation progress.

• Accurately and systematically update and archive 2D/3D drawings, technical specifications, BOM and other relevant engineering documentation.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master or Bachelor degree in automotive /mechanical engineering or equivalent fields

• Experience:5+ years R&D experience on Exhaust System at OEM or Tier1 supplier

• Specific knowledge

• Fluent written and spoken skills in English; German is a plus

• Proficient in material properties of stainless steel, cast iron, thermal insulation materials and mainstream manufacturing processes including stamping, welding, casting and pipe forming.

• Logical thinking, strong data analysis & root cause investigation capability

• Solid knowledge in 3D modeling and 2D drawing design software, like Simens NX.

• Outstanding cross-department communication, supplier management and technical presentation capabilities.
