Objectives:
- Being an ESP Function Development Engineer at Mercedes-Benz, you will have the chance to work on a wide span of responsibilities:
- Function owner of brake control system
- Own specific BCS functions, e.g. ABS, ESC, TCS, VDC, being involved for the full development cycle of the system
- Lead concept definition of BCS functions
- Lead requirement engineering incl. China specific requirement identification, requirement break down, traceability in system, function architecture definition, etc.
- Define and manage interfaces with relevant systems incl. ADAS, Powertrain, EPS, etc.
- Steer supplier for function development
- Support functional safety engineering and management
- Define function validation strategy, review test results and ensure function readiness
- Lead issue resolution of functions incl. root cause analysis, countermeasure development, countermeasure validation and releases etc.
- Ensure continuous improvements, high performance, and robust issue resolution for all module functions, both before and after product launch.
- Support BCS component development in China in the Chassis Team
- Technical support to Joint Venture BBAC RD
Working together with Field Quality organization on Chinese market issues
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master degree or above, major in electrical engineering, computer engineering, information engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering or a related engineering field
Experience:
- Profound Chassis Systems (EPS, ESP etc.) Function/SW/HW design, testing and release knowledge at OEMs or Tier1 suppliers
Specific Knowledges:
- Proficient in automotive brake control systems, processes, standards, and toolchains; have an in-depth understanding and insights into the development trends of automotive products and technologies
- Strong technical know-how on cross domain vehicle network communication protocols
- Good understanding on Automotive AUTOSAR architecture
- Vector diagnosis software knowledge (CANoe, CANape, CANalyzer)
- Willingness to travel inside China and abroad to prepare and support launches and issue solving at suppliers
- Strong ownership and high motivation to solve difficult problems with cross-function team
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Good intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels
- High commitment for automobiles and agility in diversified working packages
- Strong teamwork spirit, willing to share, able to self-motivate, and influences the team with a positive, hardworking, and optimistic attitude
- Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German is a plus
- Adequate driving skills. MB or other OEM’s internal driving qualification for high-level dynamic driving testing preferred
