Being an ESP ADAS Interface Development Engineer at Mercedes-Benz, you will have the chance to work on a wide span of responsibilities:
- Lead ESP design work for ADAS interface per the Mercedes-Benz Development System process on various vehicle programs.
- Manage and execute software technical design reviews and releases for prototype, production, and service。
- Lead and perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analysis to examine potential failure modes and design suitable prevention strategies.
- Working together with ADAS team to define relevant requirements to brake control system.
- Conduct Technical Design Reviews, interfacing with Mercedes-Benz application activities and supplier engineering (software, hardware, mechanical, etc.).
- Lead in the creation and signoff of E/E information like Device Transmittals, Specifications, and Electrical Schematics.
- Interface with other engineers, Vehicle Engineering, suppliers, and management to ensure compliance with required specifications and efficient critical decision-making.
- Conduct parameter setting and function validation on system & vehicle level.
- Analyze data, identify root causes of issues, and develop corrective actions to optimize processes and achieve desired outcomes. Strong systems engineering approach to problem-solving and design. Drive troubleshooting and development of solutions for Hardware, Software, and packaging issues found during validation and launch using problem-solving best practices (8D, Is/Is not, 3L5W, fishbones, etc.).
- Provide cost-efficient and quality parts on time, maintaining ownership and governance of component-specific robustness quality documentation (DFMEA, DVP&R, etc.).
- Support Vehicle Operations activities to determine appropriate assembly and testing processes.
- Support prototype builds and vehicle launch, which may require travel.
- Identify validation, durability, and functional testing required for a given program’s change scope.
- Support ongoing warranty reduction and improvements.
Education:
Master degree or above, major in electrical engineering, computer engineering, information engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering or a related engineering field
Experience:
Profound Chassis Systems SW/HW (EPS, ESP etc.) design, testing and release knowledge at OEMs or Tier1 suppliers
Specific Knowledge:
Proficient in automotive brake control systems, processes, standards, and toolchains; have an in-depth understanding and insights into the development trends of automotive products and technologies.
Proficient in SW Architecture Design, Implementation and Documentation skills;
Proficient in SW base layer, Middleware layer and Application layer design and development.
Strong technical know-how on cross domain vehicle network communication protocols.
Good understanding on Automotive AUTOSAR architecture.
Strong Ownership and high Motivation to solve difficult problems with cross-function team.
Strong decision making ability.
Strong teamwork spirit, willing to share, able to self-motivate, and influences and leads the team with a positive, hardworking, and optimistic attitude.
Fluent English as working language, German is a plus.
Adequate driving skills. MB or other OEM’s internal driving qualification for hi-level dynamic driving testing preferred.
