BSP Software Product Owner
Tasks
Objective:

As a world‑leading OEM, Mercedes‑Benz seeks seasoned experts who share our passion and deep technical expertise in delivering high‑quality BSP solutions for production programs.

This role is responsible for establishing and overseeing BSP/OS supplier deliveries across cockpit domain projects, ensuring on‑time and high‑quality mass‑production software through strong technical judgement, strict adherence to development processes (V‑Model & ASPICE SWE1–SWE6), and effective cross‑functional collaboration with both global and local teams.

Tasks:

•    Define and specify software functions, features, component logic, and flow diagrams, and generate clear, executable specifications for the software development teams.
•    Ensure all specifications and documentation are delivered on time and with the required quality.
•    Manage specifications and requirements end‑to‑end, providing complete and accurate inputs to suppliers.
•    Collect, discuss, and align requirements with stakeholders, and guide the software development team in implementing software functions, features, and components.
•    Act as the owner and accountable lead for the implemented software components, functions, and features.
•    Continuously check, verify, and improve software functionality, ensuring consistency, stability, and quality.
•    Manage supplier delivery quality by reviewing and validating supplier outputs, ensuring efficient execution and full responsibility for GR‑related deliverables.
•    Lead or support BSP supplier contract activities, including managing the delivery plan and ensuring commitments are met
•    Work with product team and end users to define test cases and methodology to test and improve the software
•    Ensure adherence to company development processes, software quality requirements, information security and functional safety standards.
•    Ensure suppliers comply with contractual terms, SLAs, quality targets, and regulatory requirements.
 

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Education

•    Bachelor degree or above, major in electrical engineering, computer sciences, automation, mechatronics, vehicle engineering, electronics or software.

Experience

•    At least 10+ years working experience in automotive electronics or embedded software, with technical background in BSP or system architecture.
•    Leed or deeply participated in 1–2 large cockpit domain projects involving supplier management from project kick‑off to SOP.
•    Strong understanding of cockpit OS (Linux/QNX/Android/virtualization) and BSP mass‑production delivery.
•    Familiar with V‑model, hands‑on experience with ASPICE SWE1–SWE6.
•    Excellent cross‑department coordination and cross‑cultural communication skills.
•    Fluent English for technical discussions, documentation, and global collaboration.

Knowledge

•    Experience in software architecture and software development.
•    Experience in definition and design of software and communication interfaces 
•    Experience in Supplier management: SLA, KPI, work‑product review, risk matrix, version planning.
•    Familiar with SoC peripherals: Display, Camera, Ethernet, CAN, PMIC, Storage (UFS/eMMC) etc. 
•    Familiar with Linux, QNX, Android and any other POSIX OS architecture, have a full understanding of the ECU software development and process system.
