Sr. Program Manager – Manufacturing Engineering

As the Sr. Program Manager – Manufacturing Engineering, you will drive excellence in production engineering and manufacturing operations for a specific carline. Your role is pivotal in achieving ambitious project milestones, optimizing processes, and leading a high-performing team to meet key performance targets. You will champion digital transformation, ensuring our production processes excel in quality, cost, and time efficiency.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and develop a high-performing team to achieve production planning and engineering goals. Conduct regular performance appraisals, provide actionable feedback, and enhance team skills.
- Project & Resource Management: Strategically plan and allocate resources to ensure timely and successful project delivery. Align project goals with business objectives and departmental strategies.
- Digital Transformation: Implement cutting-edge digital solutions to revolutionize manufacturing processes, drive efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Quality, Cost, Time Optimization: Ensure projects adhere to strict quality standards, cost constraints, and time schedules. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to exceed industry benchmarks.
- Engineering Process Compliance: Adhere to Daimler’s engineering standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS) to maintain high operational excellence.
- Synergy & Efficiency: Foster global and local synergies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Continuously seek opportunities for process optimization.
- Business & Budget Management: Ensure all projects align with business agreements and budget targets. Maintain strict budget oversight and forecast accurately.
- KPI Achievement: Monitor and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure the team meets or exceeds performance targets.
- Innovation Leadership: Spearhead innovation and continuous improvement efforts to advance manufacturing processes and achieve superior results.
- Customer Satisfaction: Prioritize customer satisfaction by ensuring high standards in quality, cost, and delivery. Measure performance and implement improvements to exceed customer expectations.
- Conflict Resolution & Team Engagement: Manage conflicts effectively and foster a motivated, engaged team environment. Drive team engagement and maintain high levels of morale.
Skills Required:
- Manufacturing Engineering Expertise: In-depth knowledge of bodyshop and assembly planning, supply chain management, and quality management.
- Benchmarking & Process Optimization: Proven experience in component and vehicle level benchmarking, and process optimization for improved production efficiency.
- Project Execution: Demonstrated success in planning and executing brownfield and greenfield projects within the automotive industry.
- Industry Experience: Extensive experience in automotive manufacturing, including hands-on shopfloor experience in bodyshop, assembly shop, and paintshop operations.
- Digital Transformation: Strong track record in leading digital transformation initiatives to modernize manufacturing processes.
- Mercedes/Vehicle Development: Comprehensive understanding of Mercedes and vehicle development processes.
- Strategic & Budget Management: Expertise in strategic planning, budget management, and forecasting to drive successful project outcomes.
- Design & Manufacturing Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes, including stampings, injection moldings, and die casting.
- Design Tools Proficiency: Skilled in design tools such as FMEA, DVP, and CAD tools (UG-NX preferred).
- Problem Solving: Expert problem-solving abilities using tools like DMAIC and 8D to address and resolve issues efficiently.
- QMS Standards Awareness: Familiarity with QMS standards including ISO 9000/TS-16949.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in German, Spanish, or Polish is a plus.

Educational Qualifications: Engineering Graduate/Post Graduate in Manufacturing/ Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
Experience: 12-16 yrs of industry experience
