Qualification:
B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E - Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial, Production, Electrical &/ Electronics Engineering.
Specific knowledge:
Well versed with NX CAD design tools & aware of handling all project requirements in NX
- Designing CAD/NX models for automobile, ADAS, WH component brackets, Sheet metal and plastic brackets development experience.
- Good understanding of vehicle systems and sub systems, assembly & service process
- Conversant with Automotive Product Development Process
- Good understanding of Concept design, design modification & fine tuning
- Good Understanding of Plastic & Sheet metal part design guidelines
- Good Understanding of material selection
- Good Understanding of Tolerance stack-up
- Good understanding of tooling process
- Good understanding of DFM & DFA
- Knowledge of various Vehicle Regulations & Homologation requirements
- Know How of vehicle bill of material and vehicle configurations, Engineering Change Workflow
- Work experience in PDM/PLM tool
- Good understanding to read simulation results
- Good understanding of EE component specification reading
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D drawing required.
- Tolerance stack up, manufacturability, durability testing experience is important
- Collaborating with engineering to meet safety/performance standards.
- Preparing detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications.
- Prototyping and testing to validate designs.
- Key Skills: NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA; understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Should be proactive to provide field relevant issue in short time.
- Experience within the automotive industry or similar domain experience.
- EV “Automotive” market trend knowledge.
- Expert in MS Office Suite
- Good Communication skills – German language proficiency would be an added advantage.
Project Responsibilities:
End to end responsibility to create sheet metal/plastic brackets considering weight, safety, space, Cost, DFM, Assembly, quality and tolerance requirements till the final assembly.
- Detecting/Determining of suitable materials based on surrounding parts/geometry.
- Design brackets, trays, enclosures, grommets, and other components to support wiring harness design and electrical modules packaging.
- Design innovative and robust solutions that meet Mercedes Benz Standards
- Collaborations with other functions groups and reporting information, concern, and milestones achievements from the department to the project and vice versa.
- Support all phases of vehicle build from Concept to Production
- Support the design review with customers, manufacturing, supplier, and engineering areas.
- Participations and collaboration with wider engineering team & other stakeholders including suppliers, plant teams
- On time Escalations and required communications to relevant stakeholders
- Meeting project timelines without any delivery, quality issues
Competency improvement:
Drive collaboration across MBRDI with BTVs, CAx, PDM and MO engineers in the identified.
- Domain/ assembly line planning; must be demonstrated by project deliveries.
- Proficient knowledge in integration touch points across all areas of knowledge such as Styling, Design, CAE, CAX and Manufacturing, to ensure Satisfactory deliveries.
- Be able to perform all the tasks expected from brackets design team.
- Take complete ownership of the tasks and follows up.
- Ideas/Innovation/ Customization of the tools or development process.
