Provide technical and methodological leadership in Occupant Restraint System engineering for Mercedes Benz China local production vehicles, ensuring best in class safety performance through structured development, localized solutions, and comprehensive testing standards.
- Lead Occupant Restraint System development for MB China local produced vehicles
- Represent the Occupant restraint system development in the overall vehicle project and work with surrounding functional teams (e.g. RD, Supplier, Project, …)
- Responsible person for methodology of Occupant Restraint system engineering and sled testing by developing standards and guiding the team members in their analysis & testing
- Leading/Support cross functional working groups for implementing new features or solving issues
- Develop restraint components for MB China local produced vehicles and ensure all project milestones are reached
- Engaging in the team tasks for vehicle safety relevant topics, crash safety, rating, etc.
Education:
- University degree in mechanical/automotive engineering
Experience
- More than 8 years’ working experience in Occupant restraint system development
- Profound Experience in restraint system analysis, sled testing and occupant simulation
- Professional knowledge of Restraint System components especially on their working principles and concepts
- Experienced on dealing with complex situations as well as on issue solving
- Experience in supplier management
- Experienced and confident in conflict management and balance different stakeholder interest
Specific Knowledge:
- Professional knowledge of Occupant restraint system development and occupant safety
- Professional knowledge on and Experience in Occupant Simulation (Pre- and Post-processing)
- Profound knowledge of passive safety development on vehicle- and sub-system level
- Strong communication skills with cross functional teams, joint venture partners and global RD departments
- Teamwork spirit, strong intercultural competence, and communication skills with various hierarchy levels
