MB.OS Hardware Localization PL & Commodity Group Management
Tasks

Objective of job :

  • Responsible as project lead for MB.OS Hardware localization for MB local produced vehicles for China market.
  • Leading and coordinating the project management for hardware development, localization & industrialization, change management within lifecycle.
  • Responsible for commodity group management regarding MB.OS related Hardware for maturity status tracking towards carline SoP.
  • To create transparency about projects scopes and timeline, be responsible for project status report, resources management and risk management, co-work with Domain regards of supplier management, maintain an efficient development project management system within the project lifecycle time

Job designation/Field of work:

  • Collaborate with MB different stakeholders including JV partner, acting as the interface between different projects and providing necessary development project information and technical consultant for relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible as project lead for MB.OS Hardware localization for MB local produced vehicles for China market.
  • Leading and coordinating the project management for hardware development, localization & industrialization, change management within carline product lifecycle.
  • Responsible as commodity group leader for MB.OS related Hardware/componnets for maturity status tracking towards carline SoP, change management and readiness tracking within product lifecycle.
  • To create transparency about projects scopes and timeline, be responsible for project status report, resources management and risk management, co-work with Domains/BTVs regards of supplier management, maintain an efficient development project management system within the project lifecycle time
  • Project resource & budget planning including FTE & VMAT etc and alignment with RD HQ and controlling. Lead the resource lifecycle management according to different project phases/workloads/milestone in order to ultilize the planned resource in an intelligent and reasonable way.
  • Regular project status report to create project holistic overview for the relevant stakeholders and management
  • Regular project premise handbook and timeline update and cross domain communication and management to BTVs/FOs etc.
  • Define hardware localization timeline & plan in consideration of software development (if HW & SW combined), monitoring the implementation and industrialization status on each milestone until target achieved
  • Management escalation by defecting project risks as earlier as possible. Support supplier dialog/meetings with management for critical projects
  • Product & localization strategy alignment with multi – stakeholders, alignment about localization sourcing strategy for HW with MB procurement & supplier quality
  • Support on project business case evaluation including RD related funding
  • Escalation and risk management:  e.g. project delay, resource shortage, critical supplier performance at the delivery milestone etc.
  • Change management during the project lifecycle time: Overall steering the change requests, cost and timeline management for the change implementation
  • Cooperate closely with line function team, commodity group relevant stakeholders and JV partner (BBAC) to assure localization components maturity according to the overall vehicle timeline.

     

  • Lead regular commodity meeting and steer commodity strategy to achieve overall project goal.
  • Present necessary topics into committees (PLS, GM, AK etc) for necessary guidance, support and decision.
  • Support to BTVs or domains with project management knowledge, interface to multi-stakeholders and MB committee management for driving decision/approval
  • Support surrounding processes (demand management, test management, legal evaluation) to cover the complete lifecycle of delivering a “China-fit” product
  • Support on Team matters, and organization build-up
Qualifications

Education:

  • Master degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering; software engineering or computer science on top is a plus similar

Experiences:

  • Good knowledge/experience about vehicle hardware especially E/E components, software development knowledge & experience is a plus
  • Work experience at OEMs or suppliers for E/E especially Infotainment/Connectivity/ADAS related hardware needed, SW development is a plus.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in automobile industry especially hardware development
  • At least 5+ years of experience in vehicle/components development projects
  • Experience with Infotainment & Connectivity & ADAS components/SW application, familiar with the HW release process and EE release management.
  • Working experiences in international company and automobile industry/OEMs is a plus.
  • Working experiences in project management areas at least 5+ years
  • Experience working in an agile development environment, agile/Scrum methodology, experience as scrum master or product owner is plus

Special knowledge & requirements:

  • Advance knowledge in terms of methodologies in project management, e.g. project plan, risk analysis, PMP is a plus.
  • Good understanding about hardware development & quality methodologies, good knowledge & experiences about hardware/carline product industrialization for vehicle series production
  • Know-how with vehicle EE architecture and SW architecture/development is a plus
  • Familiar with vehicle development process is an advantage, experiences in collaboration with Joint venture partner is a plus
  • Advanced MS Office skills in PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence or similar PM tools.
  • Self-responsibility with high motivation for moving things forward, team player with team spirit
  • Leading and drive spirit with excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel inside China and foreign countries.
  • Open minded for taking over challenges & responsibility with resilience
  • Very good English. German is a plus.
