We are looking for Specialists and Team Members to join us in crafting a wide variety of vehicles from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV to our all-electric electric vehicle, the EQS SUV and EQE SUV. Our Tuscaloosa County site is home to the production of Mercedes’ luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles. Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Our two campuses are among the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, with over 6 million square feet combined.

Essential Functions:
- Support digitalization and automation of the trailer storage yard on-site at MBUSI, including using vision systems to track freight movement
- Working with the transportation and operations teams to implement a new Yard Management System (YMS)
- Track key measurements of YMS platform - location accuracy, active users, and update speed
- Troubleshooting exception cases where automated processes break down
- Create training documents and standards for freight information transfer and arrival scheduling
- Meet with internal stakeholders to identify and resolve issues during the conversion process
Other Regular Daily Tasks:
- Recording and reporting on previous day's operational targets
- Support team with projects related to inbound transportation - domestic and international
- Track ocean containers for detention and demurrage, and coordinate return to port
- Work closely with Material Planning team to prioritize inbound delivery
- Analyze incoming invoices for accuracy and statistics
- Regular reporting of carbon emissions from the overall freight network
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards
- Microsoft Office Applications
- Collection and analysis of data
- Clear written and oral communication
- Understanding of intermodal freight
Preferred Start Date:
- September 2025

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master’s degree
- Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
- A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
- Available for a minimum of 6 months
