ESP FuSa Development and Test Planning Engineer
Tasks

Objectives:

 

  • Being an ESP Functional Safety Development and Test Planning Engineer for such systems at Mercedes-Benz, you will have the chance to work on a wide span of responsibilities:

  • Take lead of ESP FuSa development and validation planning, being involved for the full development cycle of the system: from requirements gathering and system design to prototyping, integration testing and release.

  • Ensure system compliance with functional safety (ISO 26262) and corresponding local validation standards for brake control system.

  • Perform Failure Mode Avoidance and Functional Safety analyses to examine potential failure modes and design suitable prevention strategies.

  • Collaborate closely with the validation team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate functionality, performance, stability, and adherence to requirements. This includes defining test cases, developing test scripts, and analyzing test results. Active participation in all testing phases, from component testing to system & vehicle level testing, is expected.

  • Work with chassis controls foundation team to establish requirements for advanced brake control systems and emerging new technologies.

  • Track the latest technological developments in the automotive industry and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the ESP system.

  • Technical support to Joint Venture BBAC RD

  • Support engineering change implementation throughout product lifecycle of localized components of all locally produced Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

  • Act as the window person between joint venture plant and RD HQ, provide technical support for production engineering issues.

  • Support on system diagnostic issues for the Plant during tryout/pre-production/series production phases

  • Working together with Field Quality organization on Chinese market issues

 

Qualifications

Qualification:

 

Education:

  • Master degree or above, major in electrical engineering, computer engineering, information engineering, embedded systems, automotive engineering or a related engineering field

Experience:

  • Profound Chassis Systems SW/HW (EPS, ESP etc.) design, testing and release knowledge at OEMs or Tier1 suppliers

Specific Knowledge:

  • Proficient in automotive functional safety standards, development processes and toolchains; have an in-depth understanding and insights into the development trends of automotive products and technologies.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Good intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels.

  • High commitment for automobiles and agility in diversified working packages.

  • Strong Ownership and high Motivation to solve difficult problems with cross-function team.

  • Strong teamwork spirit, willing to share, able to self-motivate, and influences the team with a positive, hardworking, and optimistic attitude.

  • Chinese native speaker with fluent English language skills, German is a plus;

  • Adequate driving skills. MB or other OEM’s internal driving qualification for hi-level dynamic driving testing preferred;
