Purpose of the Role
To lead and transform facilities management for MBRDI by ensuring world-class infrastructure, operational excellence, and compliance across all campuses. The role is responsible for creating a safe, sustainable, and employee-centric workplace that supports high-performance engineering and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Facilities Strategy & Governance
- Define and drive the facilities management strategy aligned with MBRDI’s growth and global standards
- Establish governance frameworks, SOPs, and KPIs for end-to-end facility operations
- Lead budgeting, cost optimization, and long-term infrastructure planning
2. Operations & Infrastructure Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations across office spaces, labs, R&D facilities, and common areas
- Ensure high uptime and reliability of critical infrastructure (HVAC, electrical, utilities, workspace readiness)
- Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs
3. Workplace Experience & Employee Enablement
- Build a seamless workplace experience for employees, visitors, and leadership
- Drive initiatives for smart offices, digital workplace solutions, and space optimization
- Ensure readiness for leadership visits, large-scale events, and global stakeholder engagements
4. Vendor & Contract Management
- Manage strategic vendors across facility services (security, housekeeping, transport, cafeteria, maintenance)
- Negotiate contracts, drive SLAs, and ensure service excellence
- Implement performance tracking and continuous improvement mechanisms
5. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Lead EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) initiatives and audits
- Drive business continuity planning (BCP), emergency response, and crisis management
6. Sustainability & ESG Initiatives
- Drive sustainability agenda including energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management
- Implement green building practices and support carbon footprint reduction goals
- Partner with global teams on ESG reporting and initiatives
7. Stakeholder Management
- Partner with leadership, HR, IT, and business units for facility needs
- Act as a single point of contact for all infrastructure-related escalations
- Collaborate with global Mercedes-Benz teams for alignment on standards
8. Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing facilities team
- Build capability in areas like smart infrastructure, digital FM, and sustainability
- Foster a culture of ownership, agility, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil)
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred
- 15–20 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in large R&D / GCC / corporate setups
- Proven experience in managing multi-location facilities and large teams
