Job Description
- BIW Development: Be responsible for the full-lifecycle technical management of Body-in-White (BIW). Ensuring technical solutions meet the requirements of vehicle performance, safety, cost, lightweight, reliability and manufacturability. Collaborate with cross function team (PLE, package, Powertrain, Chassis, NVH, HVAC, interior and exterior, E/E) and suppliers to solve technical problems. Cooperate with SE team and PP team, ensure BIW delivery with required PMI information and manufacturing ability.
- Innovation: Pre-research of BIW-related technologies, patent layout and the implementation of innovative projects. Cooperate with suppliers for core technology co-creation, promote the iterative upgrade of BIW technologies, and support the improvement of the differentiated competitiveness of MB's whole vehicle products.
- Project Management: Coordinate resources across departments and with suppliers to clarify the technical interface definition and deliverable requirements, promote the project to meet the targets on schedule, and solve technical bottlenecks in the prototype trial production, pilot production and mass production stages.
- Supplier Technical Management: Be responsible for the technical evaluation and cooperation management of core BIW suppliers. Conduct technical audits and guidance for suppliers, promote suppliers to carry out technical improvement and cost optimization.
- Problem Solving: Analysis and rectification of product problems of the BIW in hardware phase, cooperate with cross team and suppliers to conduct root cause investigation, define SOMA, LAMA and preventive measures.
Qualification
Education
- University degree in mechanical or automotive engineering
Experience
- Have more than 5 years of work experience in BIW development in automobile OEMs and have development experience of BIW for at least 1 complete vehicle projects (from conceptual design to mass production). Those with work experience in mainstream joint venture/independent brand OEMs are preferred, and those with relevant project experience in MB or similar automobile enterprises are preferred.
- Specific Knowledge
- Profoundly understand the BIW structural principles, design specifications, development processes and industry technical trends of BIW, have the understanding of the core requirements of design standards, master the interface relationship with development team and plant, and be familiar with the performance requirements, selection standards and high-quality supplier resources of core components.
- Possess solid professional knowledge in structural mechanics, material performance, joining technologies. Proficiency in 3D design software such as NX, experience to cooperate with simulation team for complete BIW structural validation and have the ability to conduct collaborative design with cross-departmental teams and suppliers.
- Familiar with relevant laws, regulations and standards in the automobile industry (such as safety, environmental protection, durability, anti-corrosion etc.).
- Have extremely strong ability to solve complex technical problems and be able to quickly locate and solve difficult problems in the design, trial production, mass production and after-sales stages of the BIW (such as Noise, leakage issue, insufficient stiffness, unqualified corrosion performance, joining defects, etc.).
- Have good project management ability, cross-departmental and supplier communication and coordination ability as well as team leadership awareness, be able to effectively coordinate internal and external resources to promote project implementation and have strong pressure resistance.
- Be rigorous and meticulous at work, have a strong sense of responsibility, possess innovation awareness and continuous learning ability, and be able to adapt to the rapid iteration of the automobile industry. - Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels and joint venture partners
- Very good Chinese and English language skills, German language beneficial
