Job Overview
Salary Range $118,000 - $128,000
Responsibilities
- Use knowledge of, and experience with, ISO 9001 Standards, automotive logistics, logistic systems, automotive technical information systems and repair/diagnostic procedures, Federal Trade Zone and customs regulations, dispatching and scheduling, accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement, and process capability to direct a team of 15 or more employees and third-party employees responsible for achieving established daily, weekly, and monthly goals for processing and shipping vehicles in compliance with quality standards.
- Ensure continuity of the work area with input on the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, and training opportunities.
- Plan, communicate, and execute production based on ship arrivals in accordance with daily management priorities to allow efficient and flawless vehicle movement from ship arrival to load.
- Liaise with ship lines and the port to monitor vessel arrivals to plan first point of rest space is available for arriving vehicle inventory.
- Communicate with vehicle preparation center (VPC) security and External Port Quality Assurance Agency of vessel arrivals to allow for seamless transition from vessel/port to the VPC.
- Create and maintain production reports and vehicle pull lists using Microsoft Products and other IT systems.
- Monitor the daily execution of production ensuring all metrics are maintained and production data is analyzed to assess individual and team performance.
- Ensure achievement of productivity, accuracy, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Identify resources needed to support the daily production plan including temporary support from third party vendors.
- Conduct daily start up meeting with production staff to communicate production plan.
- Coach current best practices and develop cross training plans for department workforce to achieve daily and future production needs.
- Adhere to administration of Human Resources policies and procedures pertaining to interviewing; hiring recommendations; training requirements; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating and developing team/individual plans for technical and professional skills; recommending rewards and administering disciplinary actions.
- Identify and communicate to management any career development and professional training needs for direct reports.
- Ensure compliance of ISO9001 standards
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Three (3) years of experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated duties including one (1) year of dispatching and scheduling experience.
- Available to work 6 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Work weekends and/or holidays when required.
