Job Overview:

Conducts routine and non-routine analysis and tests on vehicles (Voice of Customer Audit). Evaluates severity of defects based on customer perception and MB standard. Document and report findings accordingly.

Responsibilities:

-    Conducts routine and non-routine analysis and tests on vehicles, including static and dynamic (test drive) audit.
-    Evaluates severity of defects based on customer perception and MB standard and documents findings accordingly.
-    Creating and presenting audit reports to internal customers.
-    Inspect and report quality data for production and incoming inspection activities.
-    Inspections requiring sensitive touch or best judgement and use of measurement equipment may be required in order to ensure MB Quality Standard is met/within reasonable tolerance.
-    Reads, understands and applies prints, sketches, and specifications.
-    Uses magnifiers, electronic instruments, micrometers, gauges and special fixtures and verifies calibration against standards
-    Participates in regularly scheduled meetings.
-    Assists in projects.
-    Communicates quality issues to supervisor. 
-    Will perform other duties as assigned.
 

• High School Diploma or GED
  -    Required: 2+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR relevant certificate and 1+ years of relevant experience
  -    Preferred: 3+ years of relevant manufacturing experience; OR relevant certificate and 2+ years of relevant experience

• -         Knowledge in the application of quality methods

• -         Knowledge of analysis methods

• -         Basic computer skills required

• -         Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), regular Email use and ability to upload and edit pictures from a camera to computer programs

Valid drivers license required

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. Therefore, MBV celebrates a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
