Main Tasks
1. General
- Correlation and collaboration with peers, interfaces China and globally.
- Prepare relevant data and support reporting.
- Tasks and projects assigned by supervisors.
2. Supplier Management
- Support suppliers with the use of preventive quality methods, process capability and supplier production process to ensure a high part quality and a permanent improvement in supplier performance.
- Conduct potential analysis, supplier audit and process approval, evaluate and develop supplier capability. - - Participate in the supplier selection processes and conduct supplier evaluation.
- To make proposals for modification in the process (CIP) and also work at the implementation for this modification with all parties.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams of different divisions (i.e. procurement, development, logistics, production, quality partner in other plants) at task forces which ensure the degree of maturity and process capability at the supplier and his supply chain (2nd/3rd-tier).
- Monitor supplier quality performance and drive for continuous improvement.
3. Degree of maturities for assigned parts
- Evaluation of design concepts and new developments in view of quality aspects and productibility. Define quality targets in the content with the module strategy.
- Cooperate with functional and module groups. Arrange and monitor the issue of process specification. Check and approve the quality aspects of components specification, if necessary, correct the specification.
- Agree with the audit requirement planning with procurement, development, logistics, material engineering and so on. Operate audits and process approvals at the supplier, evaluate the results and communicate recommendations.
4. Initial Sampling
- Coordinate and monitor the (internal) process of sampling at startup from new types and series projects. Fix and ensure quality requirements and testing procedure with suppliers. Estimate development specification for the assigned parts and initiate and monitor constructive secured changes if problems occur. Ensure creation of test reports and take responsibility for the release. Documentation: Ensure that documentation, filing and archiving meet the current quality standards.
5. Quality issue resolution
- Ensure handling of complaints, intern and at suppliers, in startup from new type and series projects. Define measures for sustainable troubleshooting with the parties involved and monitor the implementation of these measures. If necessary, set target agreements with the suppliers and monitor them. Ensure review of processes, internal and at suppliers, by means of process audits.
6. Quality data
- Summarize and prepare the information of quality data for dedicated parts. In agreement with other teams, divisions, etc. ensure availability of information for reports to other divisions and plants. Ensure that specialized information is collected (i.e. from Development, Procurement, Production, Sales and Logistics), processed and updated.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
Qualification
1. Education
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering required, Masters Degree preferred.
- Quality auditor certification preferred.
2. Experience
- Minimum 10 years automotive industry (or comparable) quality or manufacturing related experience, Minimum 5 years supplier quality management experience required.
- Experienced in at least 2 areas of the following: exterior/interior/chassis/powertrain or e-powertrain/EE components, experience with integrated software as a plus.
3. Specific Knowledge
- VDA & IATF16949 expert knowledge, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good at cross-functional communication and presentation skills, highly target-oriented.
- Fluent in English communication, German skills as a plus.
