Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), headquartered in Bengaluru with a satellite office in Pune, is the largest R&D center for Mercedes-Benz Group AG outside of Germany. Key Responsibilities:
• Work in an international and interdisciplinary environment from development through industrialization to product and process release
• Apply preventive supplier management methods (e.g., risk classification, VDA-RGA) during product development
• Utilize quality management methods in supplier engagement, including process audits as per VDA 6.3
• Engage from initial concept phase through sampling, release, and series support till model phase-out
• Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality and production capabilities
• Support setup, commissioning, and approval of supplier production lines
• Monitor and ensure adherence to Mercedes-Benz quality requirements at supplier locations
• Lead product sampling decisions to confirm supplier readiness and product quality
• Ensure implementation of Mercedes-Benz quality standards across all supplier production facilities
Required Skills and Experience:
• In-depth knowledge of quality and business systems
• Strong grasp of APQP, PPAP, FMEA methodologies
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 standards
• Knowledge of metrology, measurement techniques, inspection methods and tools
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand manufacturing processes
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Conflict resolution and supplier relationship management capabilities
• German language proficiency is a plus
• Commodities handled: Body in White, Interior & Exterior, Chassis & Powertrain, Electrical & Electronics
Educational Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):
• Qualification as a VDA 6.3 process auditor
• Exposure to international supplier collaboration and quality assurance practices
• Experience handling cross-functional and cross-plant automotive projects
