Job Overview:
Independently and in concert with Corporate Security (CS) colleagues, the Senior Operational Security Specialist (SOSS) will work with the business unit to implement and manage corporate security processes and guidelines. The SOSS is a Subject Matter Expert (SME), facilitator and liaison supporting the Corporate Security governance role. The SOSS will work with the Business Unit’s Site Security Officers in all matters related to security topics with independent judgement and decision making related to CS topics that affect the business unit. The SOSS will support the Regional Security Officer (RSO) CS governance in the region and the Business Unit (BU) with expertise focusing on, but not exclusively limited to, the following topics: Site Annual Security Self-Assessment, Security Risk Assessments at targeted locations, Security Concepts for new builds, expansions and/or relocations, All aspects of Site locations Physical Security, Policy Governance, Project Management, Event Protection, Executive Protection, Traveler/Assignee Security, Crisis Management, Incident/Critical Response Planning, Strong Network internally and externally with local/national/regional Law Enforcement.
Responsibilities:
- Business Unit Support: Work with the regional Business Units and Corporate Security to ensure current security policies and best practices are implemented through governance oversight and compliance support. Support the Business Unit in completing the annual security self-assessment at all required locations. Provide security expertise, support and guidance to the Site Security Officers (SSO) at each location within the assigned Business Units. (30%)
- Site Security: Proactively identify and recommend areas for improving overall security at Mercedes Benz (MB) facilities while mitigating risks, managing costs and making use of technology wherever feasible. Conduct risk based physical security assessments at locations within the assigned business unit and other MB business units as requested to review security measures, identify opportunities to reduce risk and improve overall security. Develop creative physical security solutions to increase the level of security governance of MB facilities while minimizing the impact to productivity and the culture of the facility. (20%)
- Standards and Governance: Support the RSO to ensure consistency with Global, National and Regional Corporate Security Standards in a CS governance role. Ensure the locations of the assigned business unit have implemented security standard operating procedures and reporting.
Work with the RSO, OSSs and SSOs to identify the need to create, modify or delete security procedures and processes in light of changing conditions. Work with the RSO, OSSs and SSOs colleagues to identify the need for and develop standard security training programs. Coordinate, conduct and support the business in implementation of Security Standards training initiatives. Work with the CS colleagues and the business to develop and implement security training support for Site Security Officers (SSO) and ensure they understand and are implementing Security standards. (30%) - Event Security SME: Develop in concert with the CS/RM team the global policy standards for Event Security. Support SSOs and global business unit leaders with event security concept training. Support in real time, the creation/implementation of event security concepts of high-risk events. (20%)

Bachelors Degree is required. Recommended majors include:

Ability to travel outside of the USA and respond to security topics at all times with short notice

Preferred:
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and AI utilization
- Ability to create training material of SME topics and facilitate training on a global virtual scale
- Spanish and/or German Language skills a plus
