What You’ll Do
As Senior Product Manager for Payment Transactions, you will own the end‑to‑end on‑site payment experience from a product and customer perspective. Your focus is not just building features, but ensuring payment works reliably, predictably, and at scale in the real world.
Own the payment experience
Define the customer behavior of on‑site payment at chargers (card, contactless, mobile wallet)
Clearly distinguish usable vs. unusable payment states from a customer perspective
Ensure graceful behavior under degraded conditions such as intermittent connectivity or terminal instability
Steer external payment partners
Act as the primary product counterpart to payment terminal vendors and acquirers
Challenge external engineering teams with clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and evidence‑based escalations
Lead structured root‑cause analyses and drive corrective actions that prevent recurrence
Drive reliability through product ownership
Own prioritization and the "Go/No-Go" for all payment-related deployments.
Gate firmware, configuration, and internal system changes from a customer and stability standpoint
Translate incidents and failures by leading the deep-dive RCAs that result in permanent, programmatic gains in payment success
Be accountable for outcomes
Represent payment stability in network quality forums
Drive measurable improvements in start success and full‑journey success metrics
Work closely with reliability engineering, data, operations, and support teams
What You Bring
5+ years of Product Management experience in payments, fintech, EV charging, or other transactional systems
Strong technical acumen and proven experience steering external technology vendors
Experience working with field‑deployed, customer‑critical systems
Data‑driven mindset with a focus on operational excellence and reliability
Passion for electric mobility and building infrastructure customers can trust
What Success Looks Like
In the first 3 months
You have a clear, data‑backed understanding of where and why on‑site payment fails across the network.
You’ve established strong working relationships with payment terminal vendors, acquirers, reliability engineering, and operations.
Payment failure modes are clearly defined, categorized, and tied to customer impact metrics.
You are an active, credible owner in the Network Quality meeting, speaking with evidence rather than hypotheses.
In the first 6 months
Measurable reduction in payment‑caused start failures and unstable terminal states.
Repeat payment incidents are declining because fixes address root causes—not symptoms.
Payment‑related changes follow clear go‑live and rollback criteria, reducing regressions.
External partners respond with urgency and clarity because expectations and acceptance criteria are unambiguous.
Over time
On‑site payment is no longer one of the top drivers of first‑time or full‑journey failure.
Payment stability is predictable enough to be treated as a given—not a recurring escalation topic.
Your work directly contributes to higher customer trust, utilization, and revenue protection across the network.
