What is GCSP?
GCSP is the bridge between RD and retailers that defines and ensures the wellness of every vehicle ever produced until its entire lifecycle and until it becomes a classic. GCSP affects our retailers & workshops directly and ensures customer satisfaction throughout their vehicle use experience.
For this every component of every vehicle needs to be rightly understood, to define the best ways it can be assessed in the workshop environment for service and maintenance. Technical understanding of entire vehicle systems in relation to the way it was designed and the environment it will be manufactured, assembled, sold and maintained is very important.
Role DescriptionWe are looking for Data Engineer with strong Data Engineering, Modeling, Python and Machine Learning, skills to build and support data and AI solutions for business reporting and analytics.
The role involves developing data pipelines, integrating AI/ML models into BI reports, and automating insights using AI tools. You will work with Databricks, Spark, SQL, and AWS to process data and enable AI-powered analytics and natural language queries in reporting tools.
Principal Accountability
- Translate business metrics into clear data requirements and product backlog items; maintain a product mindset.
· Design, build, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks/Spark; implement dimensional/semantic models for fast access.
· Implement data quality monitoring (validation checks, alerts, automated remediation) to ensure high data integrity.
· Integrate AI/ML models into reporting workflows; productionize notebooks/jobs and manage model lifecycle with MLflow.
· Enable natural-language querying and AI-powered insights in BI; automate report generation and anomaly detection.
· Optimize SQL and cluster configurations for performance and cost on AWS.
· Partner with Product, IT Engineering, and stakeholders; run demos, collect feedback, and manage escalations.
· Uphold security, compliance, and QMS expectations, document data lineage, metadata, and design decisions.
· Model data and metadata for ad hoc and pre-built reporting as and when required.
- Understand business requirements and create optimized queries and reports
- Create DataBricks-Notebooks for data transformation
- Automate report generation and anomaly detection using.
- Awareness of the incident management process and timely support to avoid the escalations.
- Facilitate the technical discussions with strong communication and assertiveness with all the colleagues and stakeholders
- Participate in Innovation and Lean agile operational excellence activities.
Education: B.E/B. Tech or M.E/M. Tech in Computer Science Engineering/ IT or similar.
Experience: 5 to 8 years in relevant domain
Skills Sets -Responsibilities- Big Data: Spark SQL/ PySpark
- Exposure to Databricks and Spark environments
- Strong SQL & data modeling skills
- Exposure to Cloud-based data platforms (preferably AWS)
- Agile/Scrum development
- Atlassian tools: Jira, Confluence
- Strong Python development skills
- Solid foundation in Machine Learning & Applied AI
- Knowledge of Tensor Flow and ML Flow
- Experience integrating AI tools with BI workflows
- Knowledge of the Mercedes-Benz portfolio is an added advantage
- Prior experience in the automotive/manufacturing industry or related domains is preferred.
Awareness of QMS standards, Norms, DBL standards and Tools is added advantage.
German language is preferred.
