Job Overview:
Senior Analyst, Advanced Business Analytics is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and actionable data analysis and reporting across multiple business functions within Mercedes-Benz Financial Services. The role partners with key stakeholders to support production, ad-hoc, and manual reporting needs while ensuring data integrity and consistency.
The Analyst evaluates departmental information requirements, performs in-depth analysis, and provides recommendations to management to address business challenges and improve operational efficiencies. This role also collaborates with the Data and Analytics Manager and Data Steward to identify enhancements to the reporting environment, following formal system development methodologies and supporting project initiatives related to new systems and reporting or visualization solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Support:
- Assess customer requests and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis using Business Intelligence tools, including Cognos Suite, MS Access, Excel, SQL, and Power BI.
- Troubleshoot reporting issues and resolve data integrity concerns as needed.
- Attend project meetings at the customer’s request and provide analysis or other supporting information as required.
- Conduct regular meetings with U.S. and Canadian department management to review, assess, and prioritize analysis and reporting requests in alignment with departmental strategy.
- Support senior management across the U.S. and Canada in the monthly prioritization process to ensure proper prioritization of reporting requests. (50%)
- Business Analysis and Consulting:
- Provide analytical support and consulting services within assigned reporting functional areas across the U.S. and Canada.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements through process mapping and data analysis to reduce or eliminate redundant reporting processes.
- Reduce reliance on manually generated reports by identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
- Support corporate initiatives impacting the Data Warehouse, the organization’s primary information source, including submitting requests through the DIAA team and coordinating with the ITM Data Warehouse team. (20%)
- Departmental Representation:
- Support special initiatives and projects related to Mercedes-Benz Financial Services operations in the U.S. and Canada.
- Represent the Credit, Operations, and Sales & Marketing Reporting Team in key cross-functional project initiatives.
- Identify data gaps and utilize established processes to incorporate new data into existing data mart structures and/or the enterprise data warehouse. (10%)
- Scope:
- Review customer reporting requests and translate business requirements into technical reporting specifications, including defining measures, dimensions, and report layout.
- Collaborate with Business Management and stakeholders across the U.S. and Canada to confirm and approve reporting scope.
- Participate in the report development lifecycle by providing guidance and consultation through design, development, and final sign-off. (10%)
- Quality Control:
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly manual reports produced by the Credit Operations/Sales & Marketing Reporting Teams in the U.S. and Canada, as well as external sources, to ensure accuracy and resolve issues as needed.
- Distribute finalized reports to stakeholders according to established distribution lists.
- Support corporate initiatives related to A22 and EUC (End User Computing) compliance requirements. (10%)
Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:
Business-General: 3 years
Education:
High School Diploma/(GED) is required, Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Recommended majors include:
Computer/Information Science
Additional Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Statistics and Advanced Analytics five years’ experience utilizing analytical/reporting tools
- Solid understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and database structures
- Advanced proficiency in reporting tools including Microsoft Access, Excel, Cognos, and SQL, with working knowledge of data visualization platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.
