Mercedes-Benz Vans is a successful manufacturer of premium light commercial vehicles (LCV) for customers and markets worldwide. Our purpose is “to move transportation to the next level” and to define the LCV business of the future: focused on sustainability, connectivity and digital solutions. We have decided to expand our battery-electric LCV production capacity and implement an entirely new plant next to our existing Mercedes-Benz production facility in Jawor. We are looking for candidates for the position:

Quality Engineer- Complaint management

Join our newly established Complaint Management Team in the Quality Department.
Our team is responsible for analyzing supplier parts issues, handling complaints, and monitoring the problem-solving process with suppliers to ensure high-quality parts are delivered.

Task:

  • Organizes claims and complaints of parts issues to the supplier, coordinates with other departments and the supplier dirt point, clean point and the sorting of the supply chain and rework options. Ensures implementation and execution.

  • Plans required quality-relevant activities during the claim process including requesting and approval of 8D reports from the supplier and makes sure sustainable actions to avoid failures in the future are taken.

  • Conducts process audits at suppliers.

  • Verifies the facts in the event of damages in the production or during delivery of new goods. Clarifies cost schedules and resulting claims with the suppliers and take part in negotiations.

  • Revises supplier documents such as product and process FMEA’ s, production control plans, PPAP documents and releases under general guidance and direction supplier parts.

  • Use QM methods and failure analysis. Interprets the results of the tests in reflection to the existing problem and necessary measures. 

  • Prepare tests with interdependencies and ensures test process suitability.

  • Conducts tests and checks on the interaction of single parts to ensure functionality (e.g. functional testing, noise).

  • Supports to improve products and/or processes with vendors and monitors effectiveness.

  • Supports analysis (e.g. noise, vibration) and collaborates on solutions with other departments and vendors.

  • participates in the exchange of information with employees of the complaints department from other plants Mercedes-Benz.

Qualifications
  • Technical university degree in mechanical engineering, vehicle technology, or equivalent education

  • More than 3 years of experience in the areas of Supplier management, Quality Management and Series Quality Assurance as well as in other production-related units, Development, Planning, and/or Technical Procurement

  • Fluent in Polish and English (German would be an advantage)

  • Knowledge of quality standards: IATF 16949, VDA and ISO

  • Knowledge in the application of quality methods

  • Strong data processing skills

  • Ability to work in team

  • Negotiating skills

  • Assertiveness in difficult situations, knowledge of current moderation and presentation techniques

  • Willingness to travel for business purposes to audit supplier processes
