Objective of job
This position is part of the GRC/PSVP department within the field of Research, Development & Production (RD &P). As the program manager for the carline and eDrive group in China, you will lead strategic decision-making and ensure alignment both within China and with headquarters for all product-related matters.
With Mercedes-Benz continuously expanding its locally produced vehicle portfolio in China, MBGC faces rapidly increasing complexity in managing multiple vehicle platforms—from business case approval, through development, to production—within a joint venture framework. GRC/PSVP is responsible for steering Mercedes-Benz China’s activities across Development, Operations, and Sales.
This role will drive cross-carline and cost optimization initiatives, oversee cross-carline projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Achieving cost targets will require your proactive involvement in design, development, and sourcing decisions from the earliest stages.
Main tasks
1. Timing planning for future vehicle projects, lead project risk management evaluation
2. Cross-functional vehicle project management across Research & Development, Sales, Finance, Purchasing, Quality, Production Planning responsibilities)
3. Tracking decisions and reporting on implementation progress
4. Preparing management presentations for decision
5. Controlling for China Vehicle Projects based on the agreed quality gates
6. Ensuring the pre-alignment of product relevant China topics with all involved departments such as Research & Development, Operations and Sales & Marketing
7. Participation and representation of Program Management in other committees
Qualification
o Education
• Graduated/certified engineer Economics, mechanical engineering Automotive Engineering, technical orientated Business Administration or similar
• Fluent English skills, German language skills is a plus
o Experience
• With minimum 3 years work experience at OEMs, experienced with Daimler is a huge plus
o Specific Knowledge
• High motivation and flexibility combined with a high ability to work independently
• Good organization skills and structured working function
• Proficient knowledge in MS-Office especially in PPT and Excel
• Intercultural competences, Team player
• Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels
• High commitment for automobiles
