Production Engineer in the VAN Assembly Production Team
Tasks

As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the preparation, implementation, stabilization, and continuous improvement of production processes within the VAN assembly area.

Your role will focus on ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient production processes, resolving technical and process-related issues, and comprehensively preparing the assembly line ramp-up. You will collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Engineering, and IT, combining technical expertise with data analysis and modern digital tools.

Key Responsibilities

·        Participate in projects related to the preparation, launch, and ramp-up of new production processes and production lines.

·        Create, implement, and further develop assembly process concepts, taking into account safety, quality, costs, deadlines, and planned production volumes.

·        Participate in the construction, commissioning, acceptance, and optimization of production machinery, equipment, and installations.

·        Ensure the stability of production processes and provide ongoing support to Production in resolving technical, quality-related, and organizational issues.

·        Analyze end-to-end production processes and identify dependencies between processes, equipment, materials, systems, and data.

·        Identify the root causes of problems and implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions.

·        Manage technical and process changes and coordinate the related activities.

·        Analyze and optimize cycle times, ergonomics, material flow, equipment utilization, and workplace organization.

·        Coordinate activities related to process quality, complaints, and risks concerning production processes and components.

·        Implement and continuously improve production methods, standards, and procedures.

·        Define requirements for machinery, equipment, systems, and solutions supporting production.

·        Analyze production data and use the results to assess process stability and implement improvements.

·        Collaborate with other departments.

·        Manage project tasks and coordinate their implementation in accordance with the agreed scope, schedule, and standards.

·        Prepare process documentation, instructions, analyses, and reports.

·        Conduct training for production employees and other target groups covering new processes, standards, and working methods.

·        Use digital tools and AI solutions for data analysis, documentation preparation, identification of potential improvements, and enhancement of daily work efficiency.

·        Participate in continuous improvement activities in accordance with Lean Manufacturing principles.

Qualifications

·        University degree in a technical field, preferably mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, production engineering, or a related discipline.

·        Three to five years of relevant professional experience required, with a strong preference for experience in the automotive industry, particularly in the assembly area.

·        Experience in the preparation, implementation, or optimization of production processes.

·        Experience in cross-functional collaboration and the execution of project-related tasks.

·        Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

·        Knowledge of digital tools supporting data analysis, task management, and documentation creation.

·        Openness to using AI-based tools in daily engineering work.

·        Communicative knowledge of English or German.

·        Willingness to travel for business purposes.

Knowledge and Skills

·        Very good knowledge of production processes and the principles of workstation and assembly line organization.

·        Ability to analyze problems and conduct root cause analysis.

·        Knowledge of problem-solving and quality management methods, such as 5 Why, Ishikawa, FMEA, 8D, or PDCA.

·        Systems thinking and the ability to connect the areas of process, product, equipment, quality, systems, and data.

·        Ability to create and implement technical and process concepts.

·        Ability to analyze production data and draw practical conclusions.

·        Ability to define technical and business requirements and translate them into specific solutions.

·        Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

·        Ability to work in a structured, independent, and result-oriented manner.

·        Very good communication skills and the ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.

·        Proactivity, flexibility, and a strong focus on effective problem-solving.

·        Willingness to develop digital competencies and use AI consciously and responsibly.

·        Ability to share knowledge and conduct training for different target groups.
