Task Description:
Derive and implement China specific requirements, based on own experience and in cooperation with other RD departments
- Communicate and drive the implementation of the CHN specifics and uniques in vehicle projects (via Project groups, Commodity groups, Function integration groups) and functional and module strategies (China Requirement Working Groups, collaboration with RD).
- Define and align R&H performance targets in the corresponding committees. Develop respective measures together with relevant RD functions.
Development and adjustment of R&H functional testing to China specific conditions and requirements.
- Identify most harming and customer related parameter based on field researches, customer observation and feedback.
- Define and implement the China requirements with the Concept- & Spec-books.
- Develop and align R&H testing procedures to meet major use cases in China.
- Drive component development according to the new function targets.
- Ensure the timely implementation of the local optimizations.
Plan and conduct R&H testing in China
- Coordinate handling development within RD and supplier.
- Plan required vehicles to implement testing and organize R&H release in accordance with project plan or MDS process.
- Vehicle, parts and resources preparation.
- Coordinate tests on test benches of GRC and 3rd parties.
- Conduct R&H test and measurements according to MB standards.
- Regularly report test progress.
Issue finding, tracking and documentation
- Proper documentation of any issue findings in systems accordingly.
- Reproduce issues and support further analysis.
- Report the updated failure solving status at issue tracking platforms.
Education
- Bachelor degree in mechanical, automotive engineering or similar engineering qualification
Experience
Excellent driving and evaluation skills, proficient in assessing ride and handling under various conditions, including high and low friction surfaces
(mue high and mue low).Ability to work independently with a structured and organized approach.
- Graduates with experience in automotive industry (including internships or entry-level positions)
- Previous work experience in Ride & Handling (R&H) testing and development
- Familiar with vehicle development process, especially regarding chassis development, is an advantage.
- Working experience in international company is a plus.
- Longer stay in Germany or abroad (Business or education) is an advantage.
Specific Knowledge
- Understanding of vehicle architecture and communication systems
- Strong knowledge of chassis concepts, component interactions, and functions
- Proficiency in components tuning for both passive and active systems
- Experience with objective and subjective Ride & Handling (R&H) measurement and evaluation
- Capability to evaluate test vehicles regarding R&H behavior under all conditions
- Sensitivity to issue detection, root cause analysis, and system performance evaluation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a strong teamwork spirit
- Strong planning and organizational abilities
- Initiative and ability to work independently
- Advanced MS Office skills, proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Vector Tools (CANape, vFlash, CANoe) usage, advanced knowledge in using Vector tools
- Willingness for domestic and international travel
- Fluent in English and Chinese (verbal, writing, and reading) is mandatory; knowledge of German is an advantage
