We are seeking an experienced Senior IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our enterprise engineering lifecycle platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise across IBM ELM capabilities including IBM DOORS Next, Jazz Team Server, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Global Configuration Management (GCM),IBM Rhapsody and related components.
This role will serve as a strategic technical leader partnering closely with engineering, product management, IT, and transformation stakeholders to ensure scalable, compliant, and integrated engineering lifecycle processes aligned with industry frameworks such as ASPICE, ISO26262 and MBSE principles.
Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & StrategyDefine and own the IBM ELM solution architecture roadmap aligned to business and engineering strategy.
Lead enterprise-wide rollout, platform modernization, scaling, and process harmonization initiatives.
Ensure alignment of toolchain and architecture with MBSE, Systems Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Engineering initiatives.
Design and configure ELM modules including project areas, workflows, templates, automation scripts, and reporting dashboards.
Manage and optimize integrations with tools(OSLC ,REST,GRAPHQL)
Establish governance models, configuration management practices, and access controls.
Ensure compliance with engineering process frameworks and audit requirements.
Define best practices, standards, templates, and operational guidelines.
Partner with Engineering, QA, Compliance, IT Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
Mentor technical teams, conduct capability uplift training, and provide guidance on engineering workflows.
Support vendor management and act as the primary SME for IBM ELM escalation.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Engineering, Computer Science, or related field).
10+ years of experience in Systems/Software Engineering tooling.
10+ years hands-on expertise in IBM ELM suite (DOORS Next, EWM, ETM, GCM, JTS).
Proven experience architecting and deploying ELM in a large, multi-site global environment.
Practical knowledge in model-based requirements, configuration management, change management, and version governance.
Strong experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, REST APIs, OSLC, Automation Scripts).
Experience in regulated industries: Automotive, Aerospace, Medical Devices, Defense, Telecom.
Hands-on experience with:
OSLC federation
Global Configurations
MBSE frameworks
Eclipse-based extensions
Knowledge of frameworks and standards such as:
INCOSE SE Handbook
SAFe (Scaled Agile)
ASPICE / ISO26262
Professional certifications (IBM ELM, SAFe) are a plus.
