Manager – MB Vans Regional Sales and Marketing SEA

Mercedes-Benz Vans (MBVans) Regional Center South East Asia (RCSEA) based in Mercedes-Benz Singapore is the regional center that handles all MBVans affairs in the region. It is the 1st point of contact for all our regional partners, global and key customers. It is also the point of contact for Mercedes-Benz AG’s (MBAG) Van division on all Van issues for the region. The key focus is to provide sales and marketing steering, product and technical support, business development and strategic inputs for the region to MBAG’s Van division. Its area of activities are in the SEA Region and some adjacent territories in the region.   

Objective:

  • Sales of MB Vans in Singapore and regional markets
  • Improve the sales of MB Vans to international, regional and national fleets in the region
  • Improve the sales of MB Vans in the region through regional and national bodybuilders
  • Develop new business relationships with Regional and National Body Builders and fleets
  • Develop new products and applications fit for sales in the Region with Regional and/or National Body Builders
  • Co-ordination and rationalizing Operations (i.e. Sales, CSP, Technical, Digitalization activities and Marketing)
  • Improve CSP NRCP of MB Vans in the region
  • And any other reasonable assigned tasks

Scope:

Vans Sales Management

  • Establishing new and future product portfolio for Markets
  • Enhancing and improving existing product portfolio in Markets eg. new model intro, upgrade specs and options to improve product offer
  • Ensuring the achievement of mutually agreed sales targets
  • Providing Sales support functions to the dealer in Markets
  • Preparation of Sales quotation to markets and bodybuilders
  • Monitoring of competitors activities and retail price development
  • Identifying the threats and opportunities in the markets for MB Vans.
  • Jointly develop overall van business strategies, implement, monitor and control sales results
  • Working closely with Mercedes-Benz Fleet Management and other leasing companies in Singapore to ensure achievement of the penetration targets
  • Liaise with BodyBuilders to monitor Industry trends & development and to defining collaborative sales strategies with BodyBuilders for MB Van growth
  • Liaise and coordinate with System supplier to interface / integrate their equipment with our Van system
  • Regular travel within the respective markets to support and develop MB Van business

Collaboration with Controlling and other stakeholders in the value chain

  • Facilitate the annual and monthly Sales planning process for MB Van Sales and CSP
  • Liaise with HQ in Stuttgart on production requirements and price positioning
  • Liaise with Controlling team on pricing strategies
  • Liaise with Controlling colleagues on preparation of Internal Audit and Internal Control System
  • Liaise with Product Management team on Product inquiries, Vehicle specifications and Sales Engineering support
  • Liaise with and support CSP team to tackle After-sales parts and technical issues and achieve CSP NRCP targets
  • Export Control Officer for Mercedes-Benz Singapore Pte Ltd

Projects for Vans

  • Define growth Projects to be executed in the markets jointly with HQ or Management
  • Preparation and conduct of feasibility studies of projects
  • Implementation and periodic report on project development to all stakeholders

Marketing and Promotion of MB Vans

  • Responsible for Marketing of MB Vans in SEA
  • Work with markets to design and implement marketing actions that are effective
  • Ensure that the proper marketing materials are available and present
  • Co-ordinate with HQ Vans Marketing team on overall direction for the promotion of Van range

  Fleet and Body Builder Management

  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer (fleets and body builder) relationships through networking and CRM activities/ events.
  • Identify prospective fleet and body builder account customers and establish long lasting relationships/ contact with them.
  • Consult and assist markets in preparation of quotations and tender documents.
  • Liaise with MBAG international fleet account dept and body building dept to service contracted accounts within Asia
  • Develop new products/applications with Body Builders with MB Chassis/vehicles

     

Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Electrical), Business or Marketing

  • At least 5 - 8 years of working experience, preferably in automotive or related industries

  • Past experience in Regional Sales or Market Management is preferred

  • Sound understanding and experience of planning and reporting process, tools and schedules

     

     

    Specific knowledge/ skills:

  • Understanding and commitment to “Customer Service”

  • Ability to work in an international and intercultural environment

  • Frequent travel expected and possibly on short notice

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken

  • Strong skills in Microsoft office, particularly Powerpoint and Excel

  • Good planning and organizational skills

  • Highly motivated individual and a strong team player

  • Effective change management agent
