As the organization continues to expand its R&D capabilities, it is critical that Environment, Health & Safety principles are embedded into the operating DNA of our engineering and corporate functions.
The EHS Manager within Corporate Quality plays a pivotal role in ensuring that EHS management systems are not only compliant but strategically integrated into the organization’s quality and operational framework. The role acts as a central enabler of risk transparency, regulatory assurance, and sustainability alignment, ensuring that teams can innovate and operate in a safe, responsible, and environmentally conscious manner.
This position requires a leader who can translate EHS standards into practical governance mechanisms, influence stakeholders across functions, and strengthen the organization’s safety and environmental culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. EHS Governance & Management System Leadership
- Own and drive the design, deployment, and continual improvement of the EHS Management System aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Ensure integration of EHS governance within the Corporate Quality framework and organizational processes.
- Lead certification readiness, surveillance audits, and internal compliance assessments.
- Establish a structured management review and performance monitoring mechanism for EHS.
2. Risk, Compliance & Assurance
- Ensure compliance with Indian statutory requirements, corporate policies, and global Daimler standards related to environment, health, and safety.
- Lead systematic risk identification, hazard assessment, and environmental impact evaluation across R&D operations.
- Provide oversight for incident investigation, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
3. Strategic Advisory to Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on EHS risks, compliance posture, and improvement opportunities.
- Provide data-driven insights and dashboards on EHS performance and risk exposure.
- Support leadership decisions with proactive risk mitigation strategies.
4. Culture & Organizational Capability
- Strengthen organizational EHS culture by promoting accountability, awareness, and leadership engagement.
- Design and deploy training programs and communication initiatives that enhance EHS maturity across teams.
- Enable cross-functional collaboration to embed safety-by-design and sustainability thinking within engineering operations.
5. Environmental Sustainability Integration
- Support initiatives that enhance environmental performance and sustainability outcomes, including resource efficiency, waste reduction, and emissions management.
- Ensure alignment of environmental management practices with global sustainability objectives.
Candidate Profile
Education (Mandatory)
- Master’s degree or Equivalent in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, or related EHS discipline.
- Additional certifications in ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor or Implementer.
Experience
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in EHS management, preferably within GCC, automotive, engineering, manufacturing, or R&D environments.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience in organizational EHS governance, audits, and regulatory compliance.
