Maintenance Manager (E5) – Body Shop (Expat possible)
Tasks

·        Plan, -control prioritize, schedule, and manage maintenance activities to resolve breakdowns/failures and minimize operational disruptions.

·        Executes the plant's preventive and predictive maintenance program to ensure the reliable operational performance of MB standard paint shop equipment and processes.

·        Provides technical support for controls, electrical and mechanical systems, and equipment in the paint shop.

·        Manages and improves all components and software required for the efficient OEE operation of a primarily automated production line.

·        Monitors maintenance KPIs and PM system reports and utilizes these reports to initiate corrective actions to improve maintenance performance. Reviews completed work for conformance to specifications and standards.

·        Responsible for ensuring maintenance personnel are trained in lock-out/tag-out, confined space, hazardous material handling and personal protective equipment.

·        Tasks are varied and spread across multiple locations on the shop floor. Therefore, specific areas of responsibility may be created on a case-by-case basis.

·        Lead the development, evaluation and integration of new maintenance strategies, equipment, and tools to optimize the effectiveness of the maintenance team.

·        Oversee spare parts management for the paint shop with the aim of generating no production downtime, considering costs and inventory volumes.

·        Monitoring the efficiency of activities to optimize resources and costs. Prioritization of investments to meet efficiency targets, considering the general working guidelines.

·        Developing sustainable maintenance concepts to minimize production downtime and integrating measures for rapid troubleshooting.

·        Control, evaluate, select, and manage relationships with external support to ensure planned costs and introduce reductions where necessary, considering the service level agreement.

·        Drive continuous improvement activities across the organization - monitor and improve equipment performance to achieve robust and efficient process and uptime targets.

·        Ensure that maintenance procedures are completed in line with company policies and standards.

·        Actively drive a continuous improvement process and implementation of the Mercedes Benz Production System

·        Responsible for developing and maintaining robust PM and TPM processes.

·        Collaborate with and/or lead cross-functional teams.

·        Assist and use your expertise in the development and integration of new plant equipment into the production area.

·        Participate in the development of personnel training concepts and training plans for all team members. (foremen/ engineers/ employees)

·        Determine all necessary qualification requirements for the maintenance TMs and support functions to be able to create training schedules and ensure the smooth running of production operations.

·        Lead, participate and contribute to the regular communication of the division and own team.

·        Disciplinary responsibility for Group Leaders, Maintenance Planner, Engineers (direct reports) and Maintenance Technicians (indirect reports)

Qualifications

·        Technical/ BA degree (Bachelor, or Master), or long work experience in operations.

·        Familiarized with a Mercedes Benz standard Body shop; ideally in a car or Van plant. Strong communication, leadership and team building skills are expected.

·        MB- Network to ensure efficiency and sharing of best practice in meeting technical and financial targets within the Mercedes Benz world of paint shops.

·        A combination of education, training and experience that results in a proven ability to develop teams based on the needs of an MB Body Shop environment.

·        To ensure a high level of service, a strong manufacturing knowledge base is an advantage.

·        Operational background in repairing electrical circuits and manufacturing equipment.

·        Body shop process and application knowledge is a must.

·        You will need to be computer literate and have the willingness to build, develop and lead a team of specialists (engineers, planners, group leaders and technicians).

·        Mental and visual acuity in this job profile, in combination with experience, will enable the individual to be a strong leader.
