Job Overview:

Steer HR’s personnel planning process with local and international stakeholders.  Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of guidelines and internal policies. Participates in internal compliance testing and audits.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and validate data provided before the capacity calculation / ‘Solllinien’ calculation from the departments (demands, changes in planned volume, steering of new volume)
  • Develop, coordinate, implement and control new methods, content and processes for relevant variables (e.g., capacity monitoring) with given objectives.
  • Holistic budget planning for HR. Control OP planning and ensure implementation
  • Participate in international working groups to ensure HRV standards in personnel planning and budget planning
  • Control and monitor medium sized projects. Meet and ensure the objectives of the project (e.g. quality, costs, and dates). Propose, coordinate, initiate and monitor measures if applicable
  • Assist in the creation and/or update/modify and implement company policies and guidelines
  • Develop and oversee internal control systems
  • Prevent and deal with violations of guidelines and internal policies
  • Review the work of colleagues when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice
  • Prepare reports for management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
  • Gather preliminary information for investigations and/or routine monitoring for program compliance and/or in response to reports of non-compliance or concerns
  • Ensure all relevant employees are trained on corporate standards for compliance and integrity
  • Consult and all levels of management regarding critical and complex employee relations decisions, e.g.: performance management, harassment, business conduct, terminations, restructuring, and HR policies, guidelines and practices.
  • Acts as the central point of contact for internal and external HR audits
  • Preparing action plans in response to findings, and monitoring implementation and follow up
  • Oversee or conduct investigations dealing with employees regarding potential misconduct and policy violations. Support Investigations of the Business Practice Office
  • Administration of relevant HR Compliance IT tools
  • Work with MBV General Counsel to determines the impact of changes in local, state and federal laws on internal policies and regulations
  • Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
  • Will perform essential functions of the job and other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive business experience with direct HR/ ER experience
  • PHR, PHR-ca or SPHR certification preferred 
  • Previous experience handling the resolution of complex employee relation issues.
  • A broad understanding of HR policies, practices and procedures & previous experience building / updating HR policies and processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong conflict management skills, able to effectively resolve conflict with a positive outcome
  • Reporting and analysis background required
  • Must be highly organized. Strong sense of urgency in executing responsibilities and flexible when business needs require immediate changes to priorities.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
  • Excel, Access, Word, and Power Point experience essential. Expertise in information handling/manipulation including the use of data management tools (Adobe, MS Office, MS Visio)
  • Keen business acumen, strong analytic skills and tremendous drive for results
  • Unquestionable integrity and credibility
  • Strong proficiency in audit/compliance activities including expertise in data / process organization
  • Experience in dealing with planning systems and data processing
  • Proficient with personnel planning and budget planning

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. and Canadian market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Mercedes-Benz Metris vans are also reassembled at this location.

 

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006. Therefore, MBV celebrates a 15-year legacy of SKD production in 2021. The U.S. is the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
