Global Cognition CoE - Product Manager
Tasks

The Product Manager for the Cognition CoE is responsible for driving the strategic roadmap, business outcomes, and cross-functional alignment for the Devin AI platform at Mercedes-Benz. This role treats Cognition as an internal product — defining the vision, managing stakeholders, and ensuring the CoE delivers measurable engineering productivity gains across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • CoE Roadmap & Strategy — Define and maintain the CoE's quarterly and annual roadmap; align platform investments with Mercedes-Benz engineering priorities and business objectives
  • Business Outcomes & KPIs — Responsible for CoE's success metrics (developer productivity, time-to-merge, ACU ROI, adoption rate, session success rate); set targets and track progress against them
  • Stakeholder Management — Engage with engineering leadership across regions (Germany, USA, China, India) to understand needs, communicate value, and secure buy-in for Cognition adoption
  • Budget & Resource Planning — Along with Global CoE Lead, manage the CoE's operating budget including ACU consumption, headcount, vendor costs, and tooling investments; build business cases for additional investment
  • Vendor Relationship — Co-own the relationship with Cognition AI alongside the CoE Lead; negotiate contracts, SLAs, and feature priorities; represent Mercedes-Benz's needs in product advisory forums
  • Feature Prioritization — Aggregate feature requests and pain points from global teams, the PO, and the Architect; prioritize based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic alignment
  • Executive Reporting — Prepare and present quarterly business reviews (QBRs) to Mercedes-Benz executives demonstrating ROI, adoption trends, risk posture, and strategic recommendations
  • Cross-Functional Coordination — Align CoE activities with enterprise security, compliance, infrastructure, and HR teams; ensure Cognition adoption fits within broader Mercedes-Benz IT strategy
  • Market Intelligence — Monitor the AI-assisted development landscape (competitors, industry benchmarks, analyst reports); inform CoE strategy with external insights
  • Risk Management — Identify and mitigate risks related to vendor dependency, data security, compliance, and adoption velocity; maintain a risk register with mitigation plans
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years managing developer tools, platforms, or internal products
  • Proven track record of defining product strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes in large enterprises
  • Strong financial acumen — experience with budget management, ROI modelling, and business case development

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across engineering, security, compliance, and executive levels
  • Data-driven mindset with experience defining KPIs and building dashboards
  • Understanding of software engineering practices, DevOps, and CI/CD workflows
