Functional Safety Technical Manager: Job Description We are looking for a highly motivated, creative and passionate Engineer for the role of Functional Safety Manager at MBRDI, Bengaluru having experience in Automotive Industry. What You'll Be Doing - Develop and maintain work products defined by the safety standards like creation of project safety plan, safety cases, safety strategy, document flow etc., - Establish and monitor development flows and processes to achieve and sustain required quality and safety levels - Handle software compliance against safety standards, collaborate on efforts, measure results, and provide status reports - Work very closely with responsible teams for software changes and maintenance - Collaborate and communicate effectively on functional aspects with the architecture and software teams - Planning and post processing of all activities of ISO 26262 Safety-Lifecycle - Accountable on functional and technical safety concepts within project - Support and execution of relevant quantitative and qualitative Safety Analysis (e.g. FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, HAZOP etc.) - Analyze software for functional safety standards such as ISO26262 for different ASIL requirements - Supporting in performing confirmation measures - Perform confirmation reviews, functional safety audit and assessments, Milestone gate reviews - Strong collaboration and cooperation with Program/Project Manager, Architects, Developers, Testers and supplier What We Need - 5+ years of industry experience in a related field - Hold a B.E./B.Tech. or higher degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering and certified Functional Safety Manager or atleast Functional Safety Engineer - Good understanding of software quality concepts and processes - Practical experience with certifying software against known industry standards like ISO26262 - Proficiency in C/C++ and coding standards like Automotive MISRA or similar Strong background in real-time embedded operating systems - Familiarity with computer system architecture, microprocessor, and microcontroller fundamentals (caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, etc.) - Knowledge on System, Hardware and Software - Experience in creation of safety concepts and Overview on Safety Analysis (FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA) - Knowledge about product development process - Knowledge IEC 61508, Automotive SPICE/CMMI aspects - Strong skills in communication, presentation and problem solving - Flexible and autonomous working with global interfaces - A strong teammate, self-motivated with a positive attitude. - English business fluent, German Read fluent Key Job Responsibilities: - Understand project scope / business and existing process methodology and enhance Product Quality by defining and executing Quality Plan in accordance with organizational QMS and ASPICE standards. - Perform Process Compliance checks and deploy best practices across projects - Support for Process Harmonization and Process Improvements in the department QMS activities - Define , deploy and track relevant KPI’s applicable to the projects - Perform assessments/ audits and Software Maturity reviews. - Manage, execute and track quality activities (including Release Management) - Conduct periodic meetings with all internal stakeholders to ensure planned quality activities performed. - Conduct Process Trainings. - Generate MSR covering all aspects or parameters of Project / Product Quality and report to the management Basic Qualification: Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Electrical & Electronics/Information Technology Skill Requirements: - 5 - 8 years of experience in Quality Management practices supporting embedded system projects - Exposure in performing internal audits based on ISO standards - Knowledge of Automotive SPICE/CMMi, ISO 26262 or any other equivalent quality standard - Understanding of Software development lifecycle and methodologies - Process Definition, deployment and harmonization experience - KPIs definitions and analysis experience - Must possess the skills to work and take Q-initiatives or independently as assigned by Quality manager - Exposure to Supplier Quality assurance activities - Strong communication & interpersonal skills and stakeholder management Additional Skills (nice to have): - Provisional ASPICE Assessor having practical assessment and process implementation experience on behalf of ASPICE Level 3 - Certified internal auditor ISO/IATF16949 or ISO 26262
