How your role will add to the story:
The Financial Specialist supports monthly close, forecasting, and management reporting, partnering with cross-functional leaders to deliver accurate financial insights, ensure disciplined expense management, and support executive presentations and ad hoc analysis
A day in the life
Support month-end/quarter-end close, forecasting, and management reporting; partner with business leaders to provide actionable insights, ensure expense discipline, and deliver timely financial analysis.
Prepare and post month-end entries; reconcile OPEX accounts and investigate variances.
Support monthly forecasting, profit assessment, and periodic accrual activities (hard close/year-end).
Produce and distribute recurring management reports for Canadian/US/HQ stakeholders and brand partners.
Partner with functional teams to lead the OPEX planning process and related shared-cost reconciliations.
Provide ad hoc analysis and executive-ready materials (e.g., leadership presentations).
Support compliance and documentation needs (for example, audit support deliverables, transfer pricing support, and maintaining policies, letters of authorization, statements of work, and service level agreements).
Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, vendor inquiries, and purchasing workflows as needed.
Administer corporate card program activities, including account maintenance, monitoring, and timely reconciliation/payment.
Serve as the key finance partner for insurance controlling activities.
Partner with the Insurance team to prepare and distribute the monthly insurance report.
Work with the Insurance team on annual insurance planning.
Monitor insurance business performance and provide ad hoc analysis per request.

Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:
- University degree in Business, Accounting, or a related discipline
- CPA designation preferred or actively in progress
- Experience supporting month end close, financial reporting, and forecasting activities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint, with experience preparing executive ready materials
- Ability to clearly explain financial results and insights to non finance stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail
- Comfortable partnering with cross functional teams in a fast paced environment
- Bold, innovative and enjoy challenging yourself
- Honest and professional, a strong team player
