Job Overview:

The primary purpose of this job is to ensure the production readiness of MB.OS at VAN.EA by coordinating production-relevant components throughout the software journey. This includes developing standards, testing, and commissioning concepts, as well as creating digital KPI dashboards for reporting. The role involves cross-departmental collaboration with various interface partners and planning workshops to support the development of the E/E architecture. Additionally, it focuses on integrating MB.OS into MB Vans Operations by redesigning processes and determining testing scopes.

Responsibilities:

  • ·       Anchoring of MB.OS at MB Vans Operations under the redesign of processes and methods

    ·       Implementing and ensuring a consistent flash process from serial production to the vehicle documentation  

    ·       Developing and implementing appropriate solutions in cooperation with departments involved

    ·       Planning and supervising the complete range of tests and diagnosis software integrated into ongoing series production

    ·       Determination of location-independent testing and commissioning scopes for the new operating system and its influence on production

    ·       Data and knowledge exchange with the design department and production line

    ·       Examining and evaluating modifications in the production process considering release data and launch date as well as variety of models and codes

    ·       Requesting and ensuring production readiness for MB.OS at VAN.EA

    ·       Coordination of production-relevant components along the end-to-end software journey for MB.OS

    ·       Derivation of standards and coordination of testing and commissioning concepts for MB.OS for MB Vans Operations

    ·       Development of digital KPI dashboards to ensure and report production readiness for MB.OS at VAN.EA

    ·       Cross-departmental exchange with interface partners such as Development, E/E Integration Center, IT, Process Planning and the production plants

    ·       Planning and moderation of workshops for production-compatible development of the E/E architecture

    ·       Reviewing of EC and PEMs and planning implementation of software changes

    ·       Coordinating implementation of software

    ·       Educating and training the business on the integration and functionality of the MBOS system

    ·       All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • •        Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering with a focus on vehicle and/or production technology or similar

    •        5 years minimum of experience in direction diagnostic technique

    •        Knowledge in NISP, Prodis-office and star diagnose software and handling IS Tester

    •        Knowledge of CAN Bus topology

    •        Skills in programming C++

    •        Ability to think strategically and analytically

    •        Good communication skills (both verbal and written)

    •        Ability to work in a team

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC has invested more than 500 million U.S. dollars in the new Sprinter plant, which officially opened in 2018. Today the MBV facility provides more than 1,600 jobs and supports at least 600 additional jobs in the region through its suppliers. More than 200,000 Sprinter and Metris vans have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations across the U.S. since 2006.
