Job Responsibilities
Strategic Alignment & Leadership (20%)

Align team objectives with department and organizational strategies.

Support department and company-level strategic initiatives, structure, and development.
Project Delivery & Governance (30%)

Drive end-to-end execution of Powertrain/Drivetrain software projects – from requirements to results evaluation.

Ensure project deliverables are achieved within agreed quality, time, and budget parameters.

Define and acquire new business opportunities in line with strategy and financial planning.

Develop and optimize project workflows to improve team efficiency, excellence, and competitiveness.

Foster effective communication between internal teams, external customers, and suppliers across international locations (Germany, China, USA, India).
People Management & Talent Development (20%)

Plan and manage manpower needs including recruitment and internal allocations.

Develop and mentor team members to build technical and leadership competencies.
-
Encourage employee engagement, commitment, and retention through effective leadership.

Facilitate performance reviews, target setting, and career development initiatives.
Financial Oversight (10%)

Own budget planning and ensure optimum utilization of resources.

Support cost estimation and pricing for departmental activities to ensure cost-effectiveness.
External & Internal Networking (10%)

Strengthen MBRDI’s brand image within the global Mercedes-Benz R&D network.

Build partnerships with external stakeholders including universities, academic institutes, and industry bodies.

Leverage professional networks to drive business development and innovation.
Process Excellence & Compliance (10%)

Lead implementation of robust internal processes aligned with organizational values.

Ensure adherence to safety, quality, environmental, and compliance norms.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high performance within the team.
Educational Background:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering – preferably in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electronics & Communication.
Experience:
-
10+ years of experience in the Powertrain/Drivetrain domain (function and software).
-
Proven track record as a Project Manager handling complete software development lifecycle (requirements to production delivery).

Demonstrated experience managing multi-stakeholder projects across geographies (Germany, China, USA, India).
Technical & Functional Skills:

Hands-on experience with production release of Powertrain/Drivetrain software and function components.

Strong understanding of software development and validation practices in automotive domains.

Exposure to Agile/SAFe methodologies preferred.
Leadership & Communication:

Excellent team leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with global teams and senior stakeholders.

Fluent in English; working knowledge of German is desirable.
