Job Overview:
The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) serves as the primary liaison between global information
security policy (A22) and local business operations. This role is responsible for ensuring that information
governance, data stewardship, and master data management practices are effectively embedded within
MBFS processes and systems.
As the business-side subject matter expert, the BISO advises Information Owners on all aspects of
information classification, access control, risk management, and end-user computing. The position translates
corporate security and data governance requirements into practical operational guidance, communication,
and training to strengthen organizational awareness and compliance.
In addition to security alignment, the BISO acts as lead data steward for MBFS’s business intelligence and
analytics environments—overseeing data quality gates, environment change and access processes, and
lifecycle management activities. The role also maintains oversight of critical business procedures such as the
annual data purge (ITSRR), information ownership transitions, and compliance reporting.
Finally, the BISO continuously monitors emerging trends in data governance, information security, and
industry regulation, providing recommendations to ensure MBFS remains aligned with Mercedes-Benz AG
standards and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Development
- Leverage industry expertise, develop Data Management Domain strategies to improve data
integrity, enhance data security, and optimize organizational processes - Implement strategy to grow the Data Governance awareness and guidelines for the Data
Management domain - Work closely with BISO HQ Team to support the Information Owners to promote
awareness and compliance with corporate data management and information security
standards
- Leverage industry expertise, develop Data Management Domain strategies to improve data
- Policy and Compliance
- Engage with the Compliance Core Team to ensure compliance with Corporate A22 policy,
and translate policies into actionable processes for local implementation - Oversee the control process for access and changes to the enterprise data warehouse
structures, as well as the MBFS reporting and analytic environments - Ensure data access, data sharing, data security and data development processes operate in
compliance with the Corporate A22 policy and procedures
- Engage with the Compliance Core Team to ensure compliance with Corporate A22 policy,
- Process Management
- Lead the demand and release process for DIAA
- Document and define departmental processes to ensure ICS compliance such as user
access management (UAM) for data environments - Facilitate the work intake and agile development lifecycle by assuming the role of Scrum
Master for DIAA (CSM certification preferred)
- Performance
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects by assuming the role of Project Manager for
DIAA - Oversee administration of the department SharePoint sites
- Provide domain development estimates and status reporting
- Coordinate with IT for annual data purge for local IT applications
- Oversee annual review of End-User-Computing applications
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects by assuming the role of Project Manager for

- Coordinate DIAA operational activities across functional teams and other data
management domain functions (Advanced Analytics, ITM), ensuring consistency - Prepare and deliver business communications including presentations, project updates,
data environment enhancements and project newsletters
Qualifications:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.
This position requires a minimum of 6 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:
- Finance: 2 years
- Information Technology: 6 years
- Administration: 2 years
- General Business: 4 years
Education:
Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree preferred. Recommended majors include:
