• Develop, update, and maintain technical documents, design guidelines, and process documentation for Body in White product and process areas.
• Provide technical assistance to BTVs, MGS, and Konstruktion teams for effective technical decision-making related to product and process topics.
• Lead technical/design reviews and provide approvals for concepts in alignment with Daimler processes and standards.
• Drive problem-solving methodologies, capture lessons learned, and institutionalize best practices across the team.
• Conduct domain-specific technical trainings on Body in White product and process topics to enhance team capability.
• Mentor and coach team members to strengthen technical competency and support overall team development.
• Drive VA/VE initiatives focused on cost optimization, weight reduction, and value addition, while proposing potential ideas to business partners.
• Identify opportunities for product and process improvement, standardization, innovation, and benchmarking through product tear-down activities.
Required Skills and Experience:• Strong knowledge of Body in White product design, process, assembly, and fixturing.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens NX for product design and concept development.
• Knowledge of engineering tools and systems such as EC, DIALOG, BIW Template, Kosten, MDS, and KTO.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, design guidelines, manufacturing feasibility, and product development processes.
• Experience in technical documentation, design reviews, concept approvals, and process standardization.
• Ability to drive technical problem solving, innovation topics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Additional certifications in Design, GD&T, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):• Experience in Body in White design and development within the automotive industry.
• Exposure to Daimler/Mercedes-Benz engineering processes, systems, and documentation standards.
• Experience in working with global stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and international engineering partners.
• Knowledge of VA/VE, benchmarking, product tear-down, cost optimization, and weight reduction initiatives.
• Ability to support recruitment and hiring activities from a technical evaluation perspective.
• Experience in prototype development and technical validation activities.
