1.       Procurement Executive in E/E Components & Semiconductor – Procurement and Capacity Management

Position Summary:

Join Mercedes-Benz AG as a Procurement Executive in E/E Components & Semiconductor – Procurement and Capacity Management, ensuring supplier compliance with premium quality standards, mitigating risks, and shaping procurement strategies to drive automotive excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Quotation Analysis
    • Analyze supplier quotations for electronics and electrical commodities (e.g., ECUs, wiring harnesses, switches, Body Controller Units, DC- DC converter, Infotainment Systems).
    • Perform cost breakdowns and should-cost modeling to validate material, labor, overhead, and margin assumptions in supplier pricing.
  • Market Intelligence & Benchmarking
    • Conduct systematic market checks and benchmark analysis to ensure cost competitiveness.
    • Develop and maintain cost databases, price trend reports, and commodity cost benchmarks.
  • Technical & Cross-Functional Validation
    • Collaborate with engineering and technical experts to validate cost drivers based on design specifications and technical assessments.
    • Work cross-functionally with procurement, finance, and quality teams to ensure alignment on cost targets and sourcing decisions.
  • Support to Sourcing & Negotiations
    • Provide fact-based inputs and cost justifications to category managers and sourcing leads during supplier negotiations.
    • Contribute data-driven insights to supplier selection and contract awarding processes.
  • Cost Optimization Initiatives
    • Identify and recommend cost optimization opportunities through design-to-cost, localization, and value engineering initiatives.
    • Support the balancing of cost, quality, and technology requirements in sourcing decisions.

  • Risk Identification & Transparency
    • Identify potential risks in supplier quotations, including pricing anomalies or hidden cost structures.
    • Ensure transparency, fairness, and consistency in quotation validation and cost analysis practices.
  • Reporting & KPI Tracking
    • Track and report key metrics related to cost competitiveness, benchmark adherence, and supplier price performance.
    • Present findings and insights to management in a structured, fact-based manner..

    Key Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

    •  

    • 6–12 years of experience in cost analysis, should-cost modeling, value engineering, or procurement support, preferably in the automotive or semiconductor/electronics sector.

    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel; knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) preferred.

    • Familiarity with cost structures of electronic/electrical commodities and an understanding of global semiconductor supply chain dynamics.

    • Experience working with ERP/procurement systems (SAP, Ariba, Oracle) is an advantage.

    • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical and financial insights clearly.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional, international teams.

    • Detail-oriented, structured working style with a focus on transparency, fairness, and consistency.

     

     

     

     

     

    2. Procurement Executive in Capacity Management

     

    Position Summary:

    Join Mercedes-Benz AG as a Procurement Executive in E/E Components & Semiconductor – Procurement and Capacity Management, focusing on capacity management across electronics and electrical commodities. In this role, you will ensure transparency of supplier production capacities, validate their ability to meet demand, and proactively identify risks in the semiconductor and electronics supply chain.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    1.        Supplier Capacity Analysis

    o   Collect, review, and validate supplier capacity data for critical semiconductor and electronics commodities

    o   Assess supplier capability to meet current and future MBAG demand requirements.

    2.       Capacity Forecasting & Planning

    o   Align supplier capacity with internal demand forecasts and production schedules.

    o   Conduct scenario planning to identify bottlenecks, shortages, or overcapacity risks in the supply chain.

    3.       Market & Supply Chain Intelligence

    o   Monitor global semiconductor and electronics supply chain dynamics, capacity trends, and constraints (e.g., fab utilization, lead times).

    o   Provide early-warning insights on risks from geopolitical, economic, or industry developments.

    4.      Supplier Collaboration

    o   Engage suppliers to validate short-term and long-term capacity commitments.

    o   Support structured supplier reviews, ensuring adherence to agreed delivery volumes and flexibility requirements.

    5.       Risk Mitigation & Transparency

    o   Identify potential capacity gaps or risks in the electronics supply chain and propose mitigation measures (e.g., dual sourcing, buffer planning).

    o   Maintain transparency and consistency in supplier capacity assessments through structured methodologies.

    6.      Support to Sourcing & Negotiations

    o   Provide fact-based capacity insights to sourcing teams during supplier selection and contract awarding.

    o   Support contract discussions with data on supplier production capabilities and bottlenecks.

    7.       Reporting & KPI Tracking

    o   Develop and maintain dashboards for tracking supplier capacity, utilization, and delivery reliability.

    o   Report capacity-related KPIs to management, ensuring alignment with sourcing strategy and production requirements.

    Key Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.

    •  6–12 years of experience in automotive supply chain, capacity management, production planning, or supplier management (semiconductors/electronics industry preferred).

    • Strong knowledge of automotive supply chain dynamics, supplier production planning processes, and capacity forecasting methods.

    • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

    • Ability to analyze demand vs. capacity scenarios and provide fact-based recommendations.

    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for cross-functional collaboration (procurement, engineering, planning, suppliers).

    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address risks proactively.
