China is the biggest passenger car market for Mercedes-Benz. In Mercedes-Benz R&D China. We strive to provide China-fit ADAS/AD products through advanced technologies to our Chinese customers. We are currently looking for ADAS/AD talent who share the same passion and enthusiasm for developing a China-fit ADAS/AD system.

The AD toolchain platform full-stack developer is an essential position within the Autonomous Driving Data Team. This role is responsible for developing tooling service for HiL and SiL use cases in the field of China AD business with a primary focus on defining and implementing cloud-based service for HiL tests utilizing artificial or real vehicle data. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Function and Digital Testing team to ensure successful delivery fulfilling stakeholder needs.

As AD toolchain platform full-stack developer, you will also be responsible for integrating China-specific market demands, regulatory standards, and inputs from suppliers and HQ to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant simulation solutions. 

Education:

Master degree in field such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Automotive Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:

More than 5 years of experience in autonomous driving, vehicle software, or simulation domains

Minimum 3 years of proven experience as developer or solution architect focused on cloud-based HiL services and simulation technology for ADAS/AD development

Specific knowledge: 

• Good knowledge of simulation methodologies with proven experience in esp. AD system Hardware-in-the-loop (HiL)
• Proficient in cloud-based service development including both front- and backend
• Good understanding of full AD stack (perception, planning, control, etc.) and in-vehicle networks (CAN/CAN-FD, in-vehicle Ethernet, SOME/IP)
• Basic knowledge in closed-loop simulation frameworks, sensor data modeling and scenario extraction preferred
• Proficient in Python programming for functional scripting and back-end interface development
• Proficient in front-end development via e.g. Vue
• Good knowledge in Linux system, familiar with common commands, service deployment, troubleshooting via logs, process management, and basic operations
• Good knowledge and practical experience in communication protocol such as MQTT and RESTful API
• Experience in data collection, processing, use of databases, customizing data interfaces according to business needs
• Experience in ADAS/AD HiL bench setup preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Good skills in requirement management as well as technical leadership
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proactive and results-oriented approach to work
• Fluent English language skills
• Willingness to travel inside China and abroad
