Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end development and lifecycle support of ECUs used in vehicles.
- Analyze and resolve electronic component and ECU-related issues in both development and production phases.
- Knowledge on selecting valid second source components during semiconductor shortage
- Basic HW knowledge on the Active, Passive components and ASICs.
- Define, update, and manage requirements specifications including safety and diagnostic requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams (R&D, Aftersales, Quality, Logistics, Purchase) and external suppliers for component development and testing.
- Knowledge on B-sample validation, and EMC testing at the component and vehicle levels.
- Manage component timelines, software/hardware release versions, and ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Coordinate the development and testing of diagnostic functions and ECU coding logic.
- Conduct defect analysis, implement change requests, and ensure robust root cause resolution.
- Drive supplier collaboration for FMEA, test planning, and validation reports.
- Lead or support documentation of component development in PLM tools (e.g., GCSP, DOORS).
- Support integration testing in environments like S-HIL, C-HIL, and proto-build vehicles. (Optional)
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in automotive ECU/electronics development, preferably with German OEMs
- Strong understanding of automotive ECUs functions such as Powertrain, Body Electronics ECUs.
- Proficient in ECU architecture, diagnostics, Automotive communication protocols.
- Experience with tools like CANalyzer, CANoe, INCA, and diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with development processes like ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) is a plus.
- Experience in working with DOORS/PreeVision, Vector tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in supplier management and cross-functional coordination.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in ECU re-flashing, smoke testing, and root cause analysis for in-field failures.
- Understanding of hardware-software integration challenges in the automotive domain.
- Ability to lead small teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Passion for solving complex automotive electronics problems with precision and accountability.
