MBOS (Mercedes Benz Operating System) is a software driven holistic approach from embedded software development to IOT and intelligent cloud. It brings greater speed to new software development and deployment across ECUs and the cloud. It will also help in bringing new features, frequent updates and upgrades to the car in an easier and faster way. This approach also includes many new changes in the next generation EE architecture, which is based on high performance central computers for multiple domains.
At MBRDI, in body electronics department, we are looking for some highly motivated, energetic and solution oriented Hardware in Loop (HIL) validation engineers to validate the body electronics functions, which would be hosted on one of the high performance central computers. Below is the skillset, which we are looking for and the job description -
What we would like to see –
- 1 to 3 years of experience in ECU HIL validation
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Electronics/Electrical/Mechatronics/Instrumentation engineering
- You should have good understanding of one of the body electronics functions. E.g. Wiper system, sunroof, door control, keyless go, locking system, exterior light, interior lights, seat control system etc. (Any of these system)
- You should be able to imagine different testing scenarios and write test cases after understanding the system requirements
- Good experience in UDS based Diagnostic testing, DoIP
- You should have worked on dSPACE SCALAXIO Simulators
- You should know basic concepts of Object oriented programming
- Knowledge and experience with Provetech scripting language will be best fit but Python scripting language will also work
- Good understanding of ECU communication protocols like CAN and Ethernet
- You should have Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
- Outstanding personal initiative, sense of responsibility, commitment and perseverance
- Eager to learn and work with new technologies
What can be differentiating factors –
- Good understanding of Software architecture concepts
- If you have worked on AUTOSAR concepts
- Understanding of Ethernet and OOPs concept
Your Job Role and Responsibilities -
- Understand the new concepts of next generation EE architecture
- Understand the body electronics functions requirements related to multiple systems
- Develop test specifications, test scripts and test framework
- Test case execution on dSPACE HIL platform
- Debug, analyze failures and report to defect management systems
- Discuss with System developer about the observed system behavior for issue resolution
- Collaborate with other system testers to exchange ideas on improving quality of HIL testing
Note: In this project, there will be immense learning opportunities, as most of the activities are starting from scratch. Pure black box testing mindset will not work.
