Objective of job

The Battery E/E System&Hardware position at Mercedes-Benz RD China is looking for a highly-functioning, dedicated, and versatile E/E system Senior Engineer who can lead sophisticated projects and develop products that fulfil targets and comply with market regulation, you will be leading: 
•    Specifications creation for future generation HV battery E/E system and components (BMS, BDU, E/E connection etc.), requirement clarification, technical development and localization concept, as well as battery/vehicle level E/E and functional verification, typical functions and features as voltage/temperature/current sensing, TP detection, Precharge, Isolation detection, system level validation EMC, LVPN, HVPN etc..
•    For life cycle management, responsible for HV battery E/E system and components related incidents after SOP, root cause analysis, countermeasure definition, validation, release and implementation,
•    As leader of EE defect management you must maintain defect overview, steer root-cause analysis, matching fix timing and report frequently to management, familiar with regular failure analysis method, such as 8D, fishbone etc..
•    You will be responsible for working through dependencies between major stakeholders (e.g. drivetrain and car-line), deliver measurable outcomes matching project milestones. 
•    Steering project team (internal and external) globally to develop/localize HV battery E/E according to specification with great report preparation and presenting skill.
•    Central coordinator of the HV battery E/E technical topics.
•    Timeline management, stakeholder management, lessons learned management, risk management
•    Budget planning and expense control for the responsible project(s)
•    Extensive networking and coorperation between Germany correcsponding departments & RD China organization
•    Monitoring furture HV battery relevant technology development esp. for E/E and algorithm and benchmarking competitor HV battery E/E
 

Qualifications

Education
Master or Bachelor in electrical, automotive engineering or equivalent fields.

Experience
•    5+ years of OEM or supplier working experience in high voltage battery E/E system and hardware development ,localization and life cycle management.
•    Strong global project experience preferred.

Specific knowledge
•    Profound knowledge and development practical experience in automotive high voltage battery EE system.
•    BMS development experience preferred.
•    Strong experience and ability in concept design, failure analysis
•    Experience in automotive industrial standard development process 
•    Experience in E/E components(contactor,Pyrofuse,CSM,IMD,etc.) ,powertrain and vehicle testing , and familiar with E/E related validation standard(EMC,LVPN,HVPN,etc). 
•    Experience in Vector/ETAS CAN tools as well as modern project management tools (e.g. confluence) and failure management tools (e.g. Jira) desirable
•    High voltage qualification as electrical specialist or other comparable qualification preferred
•    Clear and effective communication skills, and enjoy collaborative problem solving plus the ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels
•    Enjoy working in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds
•    Passionate in work and strong ability to take pressure and challenges
•    Skillful of MS office package
•    Fluent in written and spoken English, German beneficial
•    Practical driving experience beneficial
