Job Overview
Provide expert level business intelligence and data analytics in support of Engineering Services and Warranty Compliance. Utilize a variety of data sources, including warranty data (XENTRY, NetStar, ESS-HO), goodwill data, recall and service campaign data, service contracts, warranty audit, dealer KPIs, warranty service contact data, parts data, open repair order data, sales, distribution, CAC, MRA customer pay data, and other external sources. Collaborate with data-focused colleagues across Customer Services, MBUSA, and Daimler globally to establish best practices for issue identification, tracking, cost reduction, and vehicle quality improvement. Act as Data Steward for warranty schemas and data catalogs, improving BI capabilities through data processes, reporting, automation, dashboard presentations, and tool usage for increased efficiency while maintaining data compliance and quality. Use data visualizations to share actionable insights, track performance KPIs, quantify issues, and predict outcomes. Initiate technological improvements to meet business needs and increase autonomy. This role is core to promoting autonomy and data-driven improvements in customer satisfaction and brand quality. Experience with modern platforms, including Snowflake, Databricks (Medallion architecture), Azure Data Warehouse, and Medallia, is required.
Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain and enhance reporting processes to meet business requirements, leveraging platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, and Medallion.
• Maintain various vehicle quality and warranty-related metrics and KPIs.
• Coordinate and perform complex analyses with specialized departments.
• Satisfy adhoc requests from Engineering Service and throughout MBUSA, ensuring end-to-end completion, formatted and tailored to business needs (avoiding data dumps with excessive information).
• Serve as data steward for the warranty team, managing schemas and data catalogs (e.g., XENTRY, NetStar, ESS-HO).
• Collaborate with IT on data warehouse migrations and implementations, such as transitioning from ADW to Medallion architecture (Databricks) with domain-centric data organization.
• Lead data compliance, quality, mapping, modeling, archiving, and documentation (e.g., Corporate Data Catalog).
• Develop, maintain, and publish dealer-facing warranty reporting to assist dealers in tracking and controlling warranty costs (requires expertise with PowerBI, AQUA, Tableau, Qlik).
• Ensure warranty data compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Project 85+ for Consent Decree compliance).
• Provide warranty data to support Legal and Vehicle Compliance & Analysis departments and report to US agencies.
• Provide expert support on BI and analytics tools (AQUA, Qlik, PowerBI, Tableau, etc.).
• Review the quality of warranty data to identify potential issues with incorrect or outdated data, especially during system transitions (e.g., Databricks vs Qlik), ensuring proper identification of US vs MBAG contexts.
Qualifications
• Degree (accredited) or equivalent work experience with emphasis in Statistics, Data & Analytics, or Business Management.
• 5-7 years of experience in:
o Automotive Retail, including sales, service, and parts
o Automotive technical information systems
o Fundamental business practices
o Business Management (strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, HR management, process methods).
Additional Information
Experience in PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik is required. Flexible hours/work schedule, valid driver’s license, domestic and international travel, holidays and weekends when required.
