Job Overview

The Application Integration & Solution Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing, sustaining and enhancing complex SAP solutions and associated landscapes across multiple global SAP systems for Supply Chain, Finance & Controlling and other Mercedes global templates. The incumbent will execute the functions associated with SAP Administration for multiple Mercedes subsidiaries. Provide around-the-clock technical support and expert consulting as necessary in order to ensure that the SAP system, database, security and system interfaces function properly. The incumbent will design the architecture of SAP applications and interfaces to peripheral systems. Will be responsible to coordinate with IT service partner to ensure quality and on-time delivery. Collaborate across IT groups including with network, datacenter, functional, development teams and key business users.

 

Responsibilities

Technical & Subject Matter Expertise

·       Provide in-depth consulting in technical and operational topics for multiple components of SAP systems, application servers, network layers and interface with SAP and non-SAP 3rd party products.

·       Act as subject matter expert for mission critical business systems and interfaces

·       Provide expert guidance around key business processes implemented, architectural topics and solutions implemented

·       Define guidelines for system parameters, establish trends and refine them accordingly from time to time considering industry best practices

System Integration solutions

·       Develop solutions for system integration between SAP and other SAP and non-SAP systems

·       Collaborate with application teams, ITT and SAP ECS, TAF teams to design and implement the system integration solutions

·       Provide guidelines, KPIs for measuring efficiency and optimizing process flows

·       Provide subject matter expertise in interface set-up and related topics

Partner Delivery

·       Work with SI Partner to ensure timely response and delivery of SAP Administrative tasks

·       Ensure that system indicators are within threshold and work with SI-Partner as necessary to optimize

·       SPOC for local SAP Technical and Integration topics and Major Incident Management for SAP Administrative issues

Collaborate with Application teams, project managers and SI-Partner on defining and delivering project commitments for SAP technical topics

System Security

·       Security hardening at application, like gateway and message server security, ports, identifying and implementing OSS notes related to SAP security from the marketplace.

·       Evaluating and implementing Cyber Security Goals

·       Experience with SAP GRC, designing new roles, and analyzing existing SAP roles and recommend redesign based on best security standards and make sure system, data and application security is not compromised.

Implementing SOX compliance policies and procedures.

Collaborate with SI-Partner to ensure the identified and recommended security parameters are accurately implemented.

Architectural Responsibilities

·       Performs complex design, implementation and maintenance of multiple functional systems to ensure business needs are met.

·       Serves as subject matter expert on production systems, processes, network architecture, and interface capabilities.

·       Researches and understands the business environment including target environment and ensure performance criteria and address relevant issues effectively.

·       Research new technology or development tools to remain informed of current trends in the market place.

Contingency Solutions

·       Manage the Disaster Recovery (DR) Process for the SAP systems including updating of the DR plan, periodic testing and activation in the event of an emergency.

·       Draw alternative and contingency plans for the middleware and process integration systems by working with datacenter teams

Futuristic Solutions

·       Provide expert solutions for SAP environments supporting the transformation phase of the systems.

·       Work with Automation & innovation teams to design platforms for automation and other proposed tools

·       Collaborate with SI partner while implementing innovative solutions and automations by providing expertise on SAP environments

·       Experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint

Education

Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school) or equivalent work experience with emphasis in:

Computer/Information Science, Information Technology, Management Information System (MIS)

 

7+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, managing large-scale global SAP systems. Experience working with onsite and offshore teams.

Knowledge (necessary to perform proficiently in this position)

 

Must have 7+ years (total) of experience in the following:

·       Administration  Knowledge of administrative procedures, process/project development, and system procedures.

·       Business – General Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization.
